School Daze Part 2

I've already mentioned we want to transfer the boys away from our local school into another school that is close to where they do therapy. This became a problem. The district didn't want us to apply for an intradistrict transfer until we registered, which according to their policy was scheduled by home school and wouldn't be until February 4. (Spoiler alert: we did that today!) The intradistrict transfer requests, however, were honored on a first come, first served basis. Waiting until the day we were supposed to register could quite possibly mean there would no longer be room for us at our desired school.

That was not acceptable and I made it our mission to somehow get around that problem. Isaac was in charge of round 1 with the district.

"You're cute. Use some of those looks to go sweet talk the district people and help our cause." Those were my parting words for my husband a few weeks ago as I headed out the door to work. I was kidding. Mostly.
Imagine my surprise when he sent a text to me with the following update:

"I went down to (Desired School) to bat my eyes and shake my money maker, but the first person I talked to was a guy. Undeterred, I waited around and spoke to the Office Manager. I explained the boys' situation and she recommended adding a few key things in a letter/note to turn in with our transfer request. She also suggested to include some sort of letters from the therapists.

From there, I pulled up my knickers and went to the therapy unit to ask about letters with the key words the Office Manager suggested we use."

After that, he went to the district enrollment office to be told they still are not taking registration from our area yet. He schmoozed it up with the clerks there before he left.

Isaac deserves a huge 'atta boy. He definitely took one for the team. lol.

Anyone but me wonder why everything has to be so difficult when it comes to something like school registration? Good grief. We're not talking about enrollment into an Ivy League school here. This is freaking Kindergarten! Grr.
