Friday Four

We only have seven - 7! - weeks of school left! We are all very excited about this. lol

The boys continue to adjust to the new schedule for classes. I think Shawn likes it the least. He was very much used to his old routine, and this just isn't the same. He'll get there, but it looks like it will take him a bit more time. Jason and Jack seem to really like the later start time.

The big news for school is that the big boys start sex ed in school on Monday! It should be quite the experience when done online. lol

Jack lost a tooth today! It was a molar, and mom and dad didn't even know it was loose. 🤷‍♀️ Looks like the Tooth Fairy will visit tonight!

Isaac took Jack to the school to pick up his AR prizes. He earned a certificate, shirt, and a cool light up pen. He is quite pleased. Way to go, Jack!

Looks like it is a Friday Four kind of day - it has been a long week!

Garden Update

Our garden keeps chugging along. We planted a few more rows of corn, some more carrots, and added green onions, broccoli, and cucumbers in the third planter. We still have some Brussel sprouts to add. 

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

Me: Want a hair cut, Jack? 

Him:  Yep!

And so, Jack got his first buzz cut of the season. lol

He says he likes it, and he keeps feeling his fuzzy head, so I think he does. lol
 

Finally!

We've been waiting for the first caterpillars of this season, and we finally found them this afternoon. Yay!

(Also, the camera on my new phone is awesome!)

The Way He Rolls

This is probably the best gift we've ever given him. He uses this thing multiple times a day, every day. If that ceiling didn't stop him from spinning around the bar, he would. lol

(Don't mind our masks drying on the hook there. LOL)

Snuggles

These two get along SO well. They snuggled for a bit this afternoon even.

 

They go out of their way to annoy the heck out of each other, but I think they may just love each other, too. 💙

 

Friday Five

Well, now spring break is over for all of us. :( This week brought with it new schedules for the boys and return to in-person school for me. It has been an adjustment!

Jack actually likes the change to his schedule. On Monday he started "synchronous" class at 12:30pm rather than the previous 9:00am. Now he gets the chance to do most of his work before his class starts, which he enjoys. He is able to show off all of the stuff he knows since he has already done the work. lol. I do think the teacher has lessened the academic load, too, which he also enjoys.

The big boys started their new schedules on Thursday. Jason has 2 of his 6 classes in the mornings with the other 4 classes in the afternoon. Shawn has 1 class in the morning with the other 5 in the afternoon. We did find out (during a 10 minute break during Shawn's last period class on Thursday) that he was going to have a different aide starting the next day. Frustrating that we have to AGAIN start over with someone new with just 8 weeks of classes left. It is also frustrating that they chose to tell us the way they did. Grr.

One thing that Shawn enjoyed this week during online school was watching The Outsiders. He also got a kick out of the fact that his hair was channeling Pony Boy that day. LOL

The school librarian called us to say that Jack earned an AR award! He actually earned himself a t-shirt and is the second top reader in his class! Go Jack!

This Cat

After a year of having me here every minute of every day, she is not a fan of my return to work this week. Now, she is glued to my hip at every chance. Poor girl!

Gummy Bunny

Jack got a 3lb gummy bunny for Easter. He finally got around to tasting it...he definitely approved! lol

Shawn helped his dad finish the last planter. He loved being able to use his power tools!

Friday Five

The boys made it through their first week back from spring break. Things went pretty well, which is nice. Next week starts hybrid classes start in-person, so their schedules will change. Jack starts his new schedule on Monday. Shawn and Jason start theirs on Thursday.

9 weeks left of school for them. Yay!

Things are getting exciting in the boys' math classes. Jack started working on long division (remainders - gasp!). The other two are working on solving variables and graphing. Fun!

Shawn and I made cupcakes again this week. This week we made triple chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing. Yum - my.

I love that he has taken an interest in baking.

Jason decided that Pez containers are too short and don't hold enough candy in them. He decided he wanted to create a container that is much larger. Here is his vision.

Jack was telling me about how he thinks his life will be when he's older. He says he's going to marry Jocelyn, a girl in his class, and have 5 kids. He's going to live in a red house here in town and drive a white car. He has no vision about his job, but he does know he is going to do lots of fun things - we can pretty much assume he'll be independently wealthy if lots of fun things are in his plan. LOL

Silly Cat

This silly girl keeps forgetting she's a cat, particularly when it comes to food I am eating. Here she is enjoying some of the lemon bars I was eating. LOL

We Have Sprouts!

Our little garden has its first sprouts! So exciting!

We'll be making the last of the flower beds this week so we can plant the last of our seeds. It looks like we will be adding garlic, cucumber, green onions, and broccoli to the mix soon!
