Cute Baby Saturday - Littlest Heroes

Last year I was told of a program called Inspiration Through Art (formerly known as The Littlest Heroes Project). This is a non-profit organization that connects families with photographers to "provide and capture memories for families who have a child who is suffering from a serious illness or life altering disability." As you can imagine, going out to take family portraits falls to the bottom of the to do list when your are living with kids who have been or are ill. Our family definitely understand that. You spend your days juggling doctor and therapy appointments until one day you wake up and realize that you've never had professional pictures of your kids and they are 4!

So, I decided to apply--after all, you can't find more amazing heroes than our dynamic duo, right?--and we were accepted. :-)

Just before the big boys' birthday, I connected with a wonderful photographer, Kym of Kym Vitar Photography, who was willing to talk me down off the ledge and convince me that taking photos of our family would be a really positive experience for us all.

And you know what?

She was so right!

I am totally in love with her work*. Her pictures are beautiful!

Thank you, Kym, for taking the time away from your family to come photograph us, for being so kind and thoughtful and funny, for giving our family such awesome memories, and for just being you.

Thank you, Inspiration Through Art, for your work to help families such as ours.

Here are a few highlights from our photography adventure. Enjoy!

As an aside, I have to say I was so excited about our white shirts and jeans for the pictures until we pulled into the parking lot. At that point, Jason exclaimed, "Oh wow! Look at all the dirt! Can we get out and play in it?" Shawn was quick to echo his confirmation of this brilliant plan. lol.

Considering how much playing they did in the dirt, we don't look too shabby.

*If you are looking for a photographer, I highly recommend Kym. She is so patient, kind, and did such a great job capturing what I think is the "real" us. Plus, she does shoots all up and down the state!
