Mom, Pleeeeaaasssseee

This kid wants something. He's been asking for it regularly. I keep telling him no. This does not make him happy. lol

I told him to give me his sad, pitiful face. This is what I got.

I told him he needed to work on it some more. This is definitely not pitiful enough to make me change my mind.

Friday Five

This week of the month means we have only one more month of summer left before school starts. We are not ready for summer to end!

~~~
There were big plans for all that we would accomplish this summer. We had done absolutely none of those plans. lol. There have been lazy days of ipad, pool playing, television watching, and boredom (when the previous items are not in play). We have done zero schoolwork. Our reading has been limited. We hit the wall and have stepped back from demands for the time being.
Let me just say, it has been a WELCOMED and NEEDED change. That being said, it might be time for us to get back into the swing of things...maybe. Soonish. Or not. We shall see.
~~~

We have been watching LOTS of the Olympics, or as Shawn calls it, "The Sportathon". It has been fun to see all the different events. Fun!

~~~
Gracie got pretty sick last weekend. I tried everything to get her into a vet, but there were no appointments to be had. Even the vet emergency clinics wouldn't see us! We were all very worried that it might be the end for our Gracie girl.
Somehow, our girlie turned it around. We pushed water and gourmet food (real chicken!) and lots of loving. Today, you'd be amazed to see her. She looks so good! Now we wait for the first appointment I could get her at the end of August.
~~~

Speaking of sick, we had a bit of a COVID scare this week. Despite vaccination, double masking, and being very careful, somehow Isaac managed to come down with three symptoms this week. He got his test, and we waited on pins and needles for the results. Thankfully it was negative.

Our area has had a rapid increase of infections and they are seeing some breakthrough cases of COVID among vaccinated people. This has been yet another reminder to continue to be vigilant to keep ourselves safe.

It also brings up the worry about what will happen with school...sigh.

Thursday Throwback

Our last big trip with grandma was during this week of 2016. These two were always paired together on our trips and were like two peas in a pod. ðŸ’œ

They're Back!

The caterpillars are back! It took about 2 weeks for the milkweed leaves to grow back. We went from mere sticks to this!

I'm so glad to already see so many caterpillars, too!

Water Dodge

Their new game.

One may have been a LOT more serious about tagging the other (cough, cough...Jason) with the water, but they had fun for a long while.

Jack's Song

Boys are funny. They are go, go, GO! all of the time, and they find the silliest things hilarious. This is Jack's favorite song at the moment. It makes him laugh so hard. We've heard it so much, that I think all of us know it now, too. LOL

Eye Exam

Today, Jason and Jack went to the optometrist for eye exams.

It has been awhile since Jack last went to the optometrist (2017). He did so well and was so polite to everyone!

His vision looks really good. He does have a slight astigmatism in his right eye that we'll be watching.

Jason did really well for his exam, too.

Jason's vision is a mixed review. His left eye has actually improved since his last visit in 2019. His right eye declined a bit since his last visit.

Then we picked out some new specs...

Jay got some grey Raybans. The shape is a little
different from his previous pair. I think he looks awesome in them.

Jack is also going to get some glasses!
His will be for reading and using iPad/Computers.
He told him to be sure to wear them when his eyes
are tired.

Jack picked out his frames - he knew immediately which ones he wanted and never wavered from that initial pick. lol. He was so different from Jason who actually did some serious browsing before he found his.

Their glasses should be here in 8-10 days. Yay!

Swimming Pool Water Balloon Sumo Wrestling?

I had filled two large party size balloons with water, but I'm still not exactly sure what their plan for the balloons was...

Maybe Sumo wrestling? lol
