Friday Five
Week one of the boys' spring break is coming to an end. (Sadly, my second week of spring break is coming to an end.) The boys have spent the time this week lazing around and having a good old fashioned breaaaaak. It's been nice.
~~~
Jack has packed a backpack and has, each day of this week, brought the backpack out to the living room and declared he is ready for vacation. He is ready to go somewhere! lol
~~~
What they're reading:
Shawn: The Case of the Stinky Socks by Lewis Montgomery. He thought the title was hilarious, so we rolled with it. LOL
Jason: The Ruins of Gorlan (The Ranger's Apprentice, Book 1) by John Flanagan. I'm not sure how much he's enjoying this books, so we'll see if he wants to continue the series.
Jack: Jack has read 2 books this week. First was The Magic Treehouse: Dolphins at Daybreak. The second was Who Would Win? Alligators vs Pythons. I'm pretty certain he enjoyed the second book a lot better than the first. lol
~~~
Shawn has insisted he eat lunch outside the last two days. He finds himself a cozy little spot in the yard and happily eats away while he checks things out. It's too funny.
~~~
It seems we are having another growth spurt around these parts. Everyone is wearing high waters and crop tops all of a sudden. Sheesh. It's getting tough keeping these guys in clothes!

Mostly Wordless Wednesday - Experimental
Jason worked a bit on some water purification science experiments today. So cool!
He did three experiments in all, although his favorite was the oxyhydrogen reaction. This reaction produces water, but we don't usually use this reaction for water. Instead, this reaction is used for the energy it creates. (This is also the same reaction that exploded the Hindenburg in 1937.)

Spring Break Goals
Jack came to me this morning and said, "On spring break I go on vacation to Disneyland. I'll go on the train ride. I'll go to 5 places." I asked him where the 4 places would be. He told me:
1) Disneyland
2) LEGOland
3) Sea World
4) a museum
5) Universal Studios
The kid likes to aim high. lol.
Jason was a bit more indecisive this evening. At first he said he didn't know. Then he said he wanted to play. He ended with maybe a trip to Universal Studios and the Moxie Museum. (They were supposed to go there for a field trip, but that got canceled.)
Shawn's spring break goal is to go bike riding. The rest of the time he wants to play and hang out.
I tried to say our goal should be to sleep in until 9:30, but that didn't go over well with the younger people. Sigh.
So there they are. Spring break goals for 2019.

Stomped
He got a stomp rocket for his birthday. This kid did not mess around with his stomping, that's for sure!
Also, we found that they sell stomp rocket refills...go figure. LOL
