Citizenship Award!
Shawn was recognized for good citizenship at school today. His teacher talked about how Shawn was empathetic and comforting to a few distraught students. She said he always has a smile and a hello for everyone he sees. He has such a kind heart! We are so proud of him! (Somehow he always finds himself surrounded by the ladies!)

Way to go, Shawn!

Conversations With 9 Year Olds
Him: Mom, I just took a quiz. My 'soul element' is water."
Me: ...
And then he was off.
~~~
He then came back out to tell me that his stem cells probably helped repair any damage on my insides while I was pregnant with him.
I gave him a high five for that one. How could I not?
~~~
Then he wanted to know if I thought he'd qualify for Mensa.
If he keeps coming up with topics like this, I have no doubt he would!

Great Bike Giveaway
Hi everyone!
Just recently, our Shawnie has started working on a new skill. He is finally strong enough to start riding a bike, on his own, and let me tell you, he loves it! Unfortunately, Shawn can't just ride any old bike; he needs one that supports him in all the right areas. This is known as an adaptive bike. Anytime something has the term "adaptive" in its name, you can bet that it will be expensive. Alarmingly expensive. Adaptive bikes are no different.
That's why we decided to participate in the Great Bike Giveaway. This campaign allows us to fund raise on the behalf of Shawn and other kids to help them get adaptive bikes of their very own. So cool!
Our goal is $1450 and beyond...please help us reach our goal! We'd greatly appreciate it! xoxo

Cute Big Boy Saturday
Heard from Jack in his bedroom: "Ouch! That hurt!"
That was followed by: "Hey Look! My tooth fell out!"

Sure enough. His tooth did fall out!

Mostly Wordless Wednesday
While at Target:
"Wow! She's Huge!"

"She's as big as Jack!
We should get one! Then we can have a sister!"
"AND she's on sale!"

Onward!
The boys all went to school today! Yay! Perfect timing, too, because tomorrow they're all set to hand out these babies to their classmates. :)

I had a couple of options for the boys to do this year. Ultimately, both Shawn and Jack chose to hand out Play doh Vanemties. Jason chose to hand out rulers. ❤❤❤

Push!
"Push me, Jack. Come on, you can do it!"

Jack wasn't so sure about that, but he tried his best. Lol

Friday Five...I Mean, Four
It seems that Jack is going to be a die hard Harry Potter fan. He LOVES the books and carries them around quite often. There are times I'll catch him sitting in the chair flipping through the Goblet of Fire like he's been reading. I don't know that he is, exactly, but it is fun to see anyway!
~~~
This happened this afternoon. He was very proud of himself! :)
~~~
The boys and are going to work on Valentines tomorrow. The plan is to assemble and sign all of their cards. We're also going to try a craft we saw on Facebook. After talking about it, we are going to tweak the idea a little. Fingers crossed that it works!
~~~
Interestingly, when the family lies around sick for the entire week, it seems there is little to talk about that is new - hence the Friday Four this week. lol.
The boys did stay home this week, missing both school and therapy. Jason is definitely on the upswing. He has a cough and slight congestion, but he's otherwise he is doing okay. Both Jack and Shawn are still needing a mid-day nap, which is really out of the norm for both of them. Shawn is also experiencing some really tight muscles in his legs which tells us he is really feeling miserable. Poor guys.
Afternoon Awe...
I found these two in Shawn's room. Jack was giving Shawn a back rub. Once Jack was done rubbing Shawn's back, Shawn then rubbed Jack's. So sweet!
Return of the Plague
It has hit our house with a vengeance. We've had the fun of vomit and fever and snot...oh my! So far, they've all missed two days of school and will miss tomorrow as well. (Thursday is looking iffy for the younger two.) Hopefully the boys will be on the mend soon!
My poor sick little guy. :(
100th Day!
Tomorrow is Jack's 100th day of school! He counted out 100 beads (10 beads of 10 different colors.) and beaded them on pipe cleaners. After looking at the strands of beads, he decided they looked like they were flames from a rocket.
So we made that happen!
So we made that happen!
He drew a rocket (or "rookit" as he wrote). We poked holes in the paper and threaded the pipe cleaners through. A little duct tape finished the job. lol.
He's quite proud of the finished product!
Happy Homecoming Day, Jason!
On this day, 9 years ago, our Jason finally came home after 100 days in the hospital!
It's a day that is very important to us, the day we were finally complete as a family, and we will continue to celebrate for as long as the boys will let us!
Jason woke up to some decorations in his room.
He got to pick what he wanted to watch on television and decided what we had for dinner. (Hamburgers and fries, thank you very much!)
Then we sang "Happy Homecoming Day to You!" and watched as he blew out some candles.
He was so excited to get a new CD, XBox game, and a box of chocolates.
Happy Homecoming Day, Jason! Hope you had a fantastic day!
Monster Box
Jack wanted an "angry monster box" tonight. (This may have something to do with the fact that he lost his iPad provelefge due to getting a yellow behavior card at school. Lol) So, he brought out markers and made one...
Point taken, kiddo. It seems you're a bit mad about your punishment. Behave in school and you won't have this problem!
Mostly Wordless Wednesday
Kindie art is awesome! Jack learned about space last week. This was his culminating project.
The prompt said: "I went to space and I saw..."
Jack wrote, "Jack saw a moon." He drew himself and a crater filled moon. :)
