Spooning
Someone is figuring out how to use a spoon!

Someone else? Well, ...
is not.
Or is he? Hm. Gracie likes it, though!

The boys are ten months old today! Whoa. I have started working on their posts, but with school starting, I haven't had the time to finish them just yet. Plus, both Isaac and I got thrown up on tonight (Shawn got Isaac, and Jason got me). Ah, fun times. Too bad pears don't have some sort of skin rejuvenation powers. Then I'd be all set! Anyway, my point is that I haven't had the chance to focus on finishing the posts. I should have them done by the end of the weekend.
Sigh.
Jason is back to the teething thing tonight. Maybe his last two teeth will make their appearance in the not too distant future. Then, his teething episodes should be over for a few months. We are not looking forward to Shawn's turn at the actual breaking through the gums thing. Jason's experience was enough excitement!
Oh, I just wanted to add that we may be adding to the family! Yep, we're hoping to purchase another big ticket item over the Labor Day Weekend. Any guesses on what it will be? Stay tuned for more...

Three Down...
only two to go!
Jason now has 5 teeth.
Shawn still has 0.
I think we are through the worst part of this round of teething. (knock on everything wood around you, please. knock HARD!) He is starting to eat again, and is smiling a little more. Yea. I hope the other two break through soon.
----------
School started today. I survived. My mom survived. The boys survived. All in all, it was a good day!
----------
Did I tell you that I LOVE the washing machine and dryer. The best thing, other than the good looks and snazzy gadgets on them, is that they don't merely beep to announce the end of a cycle. Not my washer and dryer. I tell you, they sing. I swear. I'm going to have to record it. The sound is awesome!
----------
Lastly, here is the thing you come around for most--pictures! I took these last week (pre-teething).

One Word...
Miserable.
Jason is just miserable.
We went to the pediatrician yesterday, where I was given an explanation for his grumpiness. The boy is teething. Not one. Not two. Not even three teeth. The poor thing is swollen in FIVE different places. It really started to get bad last night. One of his canine teeth has broken through the gums, his two front teeth are going to break through at any moment (I think one might have already, but I don't want to swear on it), and he is swollen for two more canines. Yikes.
Today he has been feeling horrible. He didn't even want to jump in his jumper! That tells me it is pretty bad. He's been getting Tylenol regularly and baby Oragel. Other than that, there just isn't much more I can do but love on him. (and yes, I do quite a bit of that)
He doesn't want to eat, he sleeps fitfully, and cries big boo hoo tears. It's been like that since around 11 last night.
Right now, he is sleeping quietly in his swing. This is practically the first time he's let me put him down all night and day.
Little Shawn Bon isn't liking that his brother is hogging all of the attention. Plus, he is gnawing on his hand much more than usual. It looks like Shawn is trying to jump on this teething train, too. Hopefully his bottom teeth will finally come in soon. If not, he is going to chew his hand right off!
Other than all of the teething stuff, things have been quiet around here. Just how we like it.
--------
Oh! The new washer and dryer are here! They are beau-ti-ful! (say that with an accent for full effect) Hee Hee. I can't wait to get a load started to see how they work. (oh, and I'll take some pictures when the boys feel a little better)

They're Little, But...
...they are hard on things. Everything. The most recent thing they've managed to put out of commission is my poor, humble washer. It was such a good washer. It cleaned. It did everything a washer was supposed to do--except outlast the boys.**
While I am sad to see it go (I was getting a lot of one on one time with it and had really gotten to know it well), in its place will be not only a new washer, but also a brand new dryer, too! On pedestals even. Woo Whoo!
They will come on Saturday between 10 - 2.

Of course, I am having a little bit of buyer's remorse, as one does when spending way too much money on something like this. I am sure I'll get over this remorse once the first load of laundry is done, say on Saturday afternoon at about 2:01. :-)
Anyway, they are so pretty. Here is what they look like. Seeing as this is the boys' blog, I'll be sure to take pictures of the real things with the boys on them. You know, to make it all about the boys and all. So, without further ado...
Sigh...I am so happy just thinking about them. I think I might just heart them. I'll let you know Saturday!
My lovely dryer (sans the pedestal):
And its beautiful sister, the washer (also sans the pedestal):

**My mom is worried because she has the same model washer we did. She just knows her washer is going to go kaplooie also. I tried to tell her that the million 100 50 10-15 loads of laundry we do a week aged ours prematurely, so she doesn't have to worry about it.
Oh, and people, you need to vote. No more of this cop out stuff of "they look like themselves" (like me). You guys are my out. You need to decide for me. We already know I have no idea. So come on...get voting!

It's Poll Time
Okay. I am at a temporary loss for things to write. My efforts to get Isaac to write a post were squashed as well. (don't worry, I'll keep working on him) So, I decided it was time to solve the age old question of "Who do they look like?"
It is interesting. I couldn't tell you who looks like whom. I really have no idea. I know they look nothing alike. And yes, I know that Jason has my coloring and Shawn has Isaac's, but beyond that I can't figure it out. To me, they look like...themselves.
Now I leave it up to you, dear readers, to solve this question for me. (how is that for lazy?)
All you have to do is look closely at our pictures. (click to enlarge) Then go to the side bar and vote. You'll have 6 days (one vote per person, please) and I'll post the results next Friday.
Here is Shawn...

And now Jason...

And us...(we are not trying to influence your vote, but it made us laugh) :-)

While you're at it, you might as well pick a topic for Isaac to write about sometime soon! (he even agreed - although not exactly willingly)

Innocent Enough
See this?

And this?
And this?
It all looks innocent enough, right?
And for the most part, I would agree. Take this little guy for instance...
One might even go so far as to say he's thinking, "YUMMY!!!"
But then there are little guys like this...
Who throw up said little treats, just for added emphasis.
Apparently, this stuff is not so innocent after all. Sigh.

Rolling? Not!
Jason rolls over from his back to his belly really well. He does it all the time. The problem comes when he tries to get from his belly back over to his back. It seems he has forgotten he knows how to do this! So, in an effort to help him practice in a controlled way, I have taken to rolling him over to his belly and "making" him roll back. (as if one can make a baby do anything) He has caught on to my master plan and now I am meeting resistance...
Seriously. He gets this attitude from his father.

I Bet You Didn't Notice
Hey there. Did you notice the family portrait at the bottom of the screen? Just scroll down until you can't any more and there it is. (I am digging my picture--hubba, hubba!)
The Key...
to a happy baby, and more importantly, a happy mommy, is a good nap. Sadly, this has been lacking at our house. Until today that is. Today, I found the key to a good nap.
Separate rooms!!! (and swings, but I think the room thing takes precedence) Why didn't I do this sooner?
Ah...now, because I have two sleeping babies (and not just one asleep with the other trying to wake him up, because now he CAN'T when his brother is in the other room--heehee), I am off to do some laundry. Yea.

Almost
Not too bad, huh?
We have officially been removed from the contagious list. WooWhoo!!! Shawn's last little blister scabbed over today. (and I am not looking for any others. I'm working the "don't ask, don't tell" "don't look, don't see" mentality here.)
As Jason puts it...
If I never see a pox again, it will be waaaaayyyy to soon.

Second Verse, Worse Than the First...
Didn't think that was possible, but alas, I was proven wrong yet again...

The above picture was taken on day 3 of the breakout. Now he looks, well, just picture the above shot with, say, about two spare inches of clear skin. The rest is covered in scabs.
Out damn spots! This shows one of his numerous poxes on his palms! (not to mention all of the ones he has on the bottoms of his feet)
Put that stupid camera away already. I don't feel good.
Smiling, finally, today after breakfast...
Let's hope the end of the pox is in sight.
