Happy Halloween!

We had another great day!

We actually got another chance to trick or treat today. We headed back to our favorite place, the outlet mall. Can't beat smooth ground and safe candy. Fun all around! 

Then we came home and walked around the neighborhood, too. The boys made out with their new stashes of candy! 

We we got back from that, we ended the night giving out candy to our neighbors. So much fun!

Pumpkin Carvers

We carved pumpkins yesterday, and I think the boys did a fantastic job with their creations!

From left to right, the pumpkins were created by: Jason, Jack, Jack, Shawn, Shawn, and Jason!

Obviously, Jack was there, too, but he made his creations and left to do something else before we got the camera out. He's a quick one, that kid.

Anyway, we just love how they look all lit up. It's a good thing, too, because we got a chance to really admire their glow tonight while the power was out!

I am just so proud of these amazing guys. My heart is full. 💖

Today these two had a fun day of celebrating. They got to go to their favorite store, Target, to pick out a toy. They even got to eat cake and ice cream...for dinner! lol We opted for a family celebration with the added bonus of an upcoming family adventure. It works out to be twice the fun for everyone. :)

The Eve of Ten

I say this every year, but oh how my heart swells on this day... 

With a kiss goodnight, I said goodbye to the year of 9. Tomorrow my little 2 pound preemie miracles will wake up as TEN year olds!

Isaac was making beef jerky this weekend. Jason was apparently overcome with emotion as he declared, Mmmm it smells like a meat paradise in here!" Lol!

Friday Five

One week from now we will have two, count them...TWO!, ten year olds in the house! It is just mind boggling that they can be so big now.

To put it into perspective, these were my nearly ten year olds when they were one week old:

Jack has been working hard this week on mastering the part + part = whole (and conversely whole - part = part) standard in math this week. It's so fascinating watching his mind work as he learns these new skills.

He has also discovered the world of Mo Willems and his characters Gerald and Piggie. He absolutely LOVES reading his stories. :)

The boys got to have a play date with some family friends today as their reward for a great week in school. So fun! (Plus, mom and dad got the chance to do some much needed errands.)

Halloween costumes have been selected. Jack is adamant that he be a repeat of something he was before, and we were lucky enough that he still fits in the costume. Score! The big boys each selected something different this year. Now we just have to wait until it's time to wear our costumes!
