Happy Halloween!

We had another fun adventure trick-or-treating at the mall tonight, and the boys all had a fantastic time!

The best group shots I have...

When you have three boys, you call it success when you manage to even get one with everyone all in the same place. lol

Love this one of Jack and Jay!

Shawn had loads of fun checking out all of his candy.

Hey, baby. Even the king needs a little snack every now and then.

He loved it when people knew who he was.
Of course he is Nascar driver Kyle Busch.

A full body shot of the King himself.

Daddy and his boy

Shawn finally let me get a shot of him in his
Waldo hat! Then he threw the hat across the room. lol

Jay practicing his driving moves. I am seriously
worried about the idea of this kid getting a driver's license
some day!
Happy Halloween, everyone!

Throwback Thursday - Halloween 2011

Throwback Thursday: In honor of Halloween tomorrow, I was looking back at Jack's first Halloween...

Jason the police officer.

Shawn as DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba.

And our monkey Jack.

Conversations With 7 Year Olds - First Grade Version of the Birds and the Bees

Jason informed us that he knows who has the stinkiest arm pits in the world. It's a girl in his school, M. Apparently she smells her arms and says, "Eww! My armpits stink!"

Fortunately, when Jason smells his own armpits, they do not stink. The little girl then told Jay that girls armpits stink, but boys' don't.

The things these boys of ours are "learning" in school keeps us on our toes. Now, not only do we need to keep up with lessons in reading and writing, we also get to field conversations on the first grade version of the birds and bees!

And Then They Were 7!

Today, our dynamic duo turned 7 years old.

It was a fun-filled day. We didn't do anything too fancy or extravagant.

They took treats to share with friends at school.

They ate pizza for dinner.

They spent time with family.

We kept it simple, which I think made it all the better for our guys.

They blew out some candles and had a little cake.

They opened some presents. Of course that was a huge hit.

We shared a little love.

Sometimes it's pretty cool sharing your birthday with your brother. :)

The best part, though, was when I tucked them into bed and said my first goodnight to two amazing 7 year olds. "I hope you had a wonderful birthday, boys." I told them as I kissed each on his forehead.

"Mom, I wish I could just rewind the day and do it all over again." Jason sighed. He rolled over grinning from ear to ear.

"Me, too," Shawn added.

Seriously.

It really can't get any better than that. :)

Happy Birthday, Shawn and Jason. We love you very much, and we're so, so happy you're our amazing boys. May the year of 7 bring you loads of laughter, fun, and adventure!

The Eve of 7

With a kiss goodnight, we said goodbye to the year of 6. Tomorrow our little 2 pound preemie miracles will wake up as SEVEN year olds!

I almost can't remember how tiny they were when they were born. The other day I picked up a preemie outfit in the store; it blows my mind at the thought that they couldn't even fit those clothes until they were 2 months old.

It's hard for me to remember because now all I see are these two big, strong, funny, amazing boys.

The house has been decorated. The balloons have been hung. In a few short hours, it will be a whole new world for them. Big things happen for seven year olds, you know. They do. :)

Here's hoping 7 brings us lots of laughter, joy, and adventure!

Happy Birthday Eve, you two. We love you to the moon and back.

Cute Baby Saturday

Tonight we went trick or treating at the zoo!

Shawn is Where's Waldo. Thankfully I was able to find him the whole night. So was everyone else, which is good because he was totally into to chatting it up with everyone he met.

Jay is race car driver, Kyle Busch. He zoomed up and down the zoo's hills so fast! He also managed to survive a few crashes. I hear crashing is a hazard that's to be expected in this occupation. ;)

And Mr. Jack is The King, Elvis! He discovered a new love of the stage. We may have a future entertainer in our hands, as he wanted nothing else but to dance the night away in front of the crowd. It was pretty cute to watch.

The boys had a great time and absolutely wore themselves out with the fun. I don't know for sure, but we may have found ourselves a new October tradition!

It's Awards Time!

Jason earned a reading award at school today! He can read all of the first grade sight words. (It's been at least a few weeks since he did it, too!)

He didn't know he was going to get an award, and his face was so cute when he saw we were there to see him. :)

Way to go, Jay!

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

The boys and chaperone daddy went to the Goleta post office as their first field trip of the year.

They had a fantastic time and learned loads about how the mail is moved throughout the post office and then out to the rest of the world.

Here are a few highlights of their trip...

Way to rock it, boys!

I Vant...

to bite you! (Because sucking your blood is really gross. Ahem.)

This was a dollar well spent. They've
all had fun with their teeth!

A Few Good Things This Week

Good things this week:
  1. The countdown to the boys' birthday continues. Only 7 days until the big 7!
  2. The boys are excited that their day falls on a Monday. Rather than taking food to share with their friends at school that day, they are going to take Wikki Stixs party favors. All I need is to come up with a cute slogan and card for them and viola! I think the boys will love it, and it's cheaper in the long run, too.
  3. The big boys have their first, first grade field trip on Wednesday. They are going to the post office and are very excited.
  4. Jason will receive an award at an assembly this week. I'm not sure what the award is for, but I'm very proud of him!
  5. We plan on going to our first Trick-or-Treat excursion this weekend. The boys don't know about it yet. I can't wait to surprise them. :)
  6. We get to take family pictures this weekend, too. Yea!

Of Course

I found some glow in the dark foam sticks in the dollar bin at Target. I don't know what I thought they would do with them, but I should have known it would be something like this...

Lol. Of course they were going to beat each other with them! They had a blast.
