Monday Moment

He likes to climb on the couch behind me and pull me back so I can squish him. He giggles and laughs big belly laughs.

He thinks it's pretty hilarious.

I think it's pretty funny, too. :)

Monday Moment on a Sunday

Jason wasn't feeling well this evening (Oh please have this be allergies and not the start of a cold after only THREE days of school!), so he was lying on the couch resting. Every time he'd try to sit up, Jack would run over and push him back down.

"You go to sleep, Jay-son. You go night, night now." he kept telling him.

lol. It was pretty funny and way cute!

Monday Moment

Someone got a hold of his brother's headphones.

How'd these things get on my head?
I have no idea what happened!

Rocking out to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
(As an aside, this is the new "cheese!' face. lol)

There is nothing quite like getting to do something
that you KNOW you're not supposed to do. Pure bliss!

We've Got Ourselves Another Funny Guy on Our Hands

Jack when he saw what is growing in our lawn...

"Wake up flower. Wake up. Time get up, flower!"

Funny, Jack. Those are weeds not flowers. lol.

I guess that means it's time to get out there and get rid of all those blooming "flowers" on the lawn! :)

Monday Moment

After our adventure yesterday, I brought our prized pumpkins into the house and promptly deposited them on the kitchen floor.

Shawn found them earlier this evening and started playing with them. He decided they needed to go for a walk, so he'd move them all over to the glass door in the kitchen so they could look outside, and then he'd roll them all back to where they started. He was talking for them and saying things the entire time. "Let's go for a walk, pumpkin. Come on. Let's go!" It was hilarious.

When Shawn was finished, he managed to get all of the pumpkins back to their original spot except one. He had forgotten the last one by the glass door. There it sat like he had left it with the blinds pulled back as if the pumpkin was looking outside.

A little while later, I brought Jack into the kitchen so I could get him in his chair for dinner. He stopped in his tracks when he noticed the pumpkin. He looked at the pumpkin for a few beats and then up at me. Finally he walked over to the pumpkin, and in a way that was as if he knew exactly what the pumpkin was doing in that spot, said, "Where you goin' punakin?"

I don't know what the "punakin" said back to him, but he reached down and patted it on the head before heading off to his chair. :)

A Simple Monday Moment

Silly Jack. That's not how you brush your teeth.

That's better.

He's getting to be such a BIG boy!

Monday Moments in the Backyard

It's just like you're hanging out with us in the backyard. :)

Jack does love his bubbles.

~~~
Shawn's favorite thing from today was playing in a box I gave the boys.
Jason's favorite thing today was getting two coins and a note from the Tooth Fairy.
Monday Moment - Rip
This evening Isaac had on a very old t-shirt that had several holes under the arms. He waited for just the right moment when, in a deliberate move, he ripped the sleeve right off of his shirt.
The boys, eyes wide from the shock of the action, laughed hysterically. They thought that was the. funniest. thing. EVER! lol.
Here's our littlest wearing daddy's sleeve on his head. He paraded around like this for quite a while!
Who's the man?
ME!
~~~

Shawn thought the best thing from today was playing on the noodle while swimming.

Jason thought the best thing from today was watching daddy rip his shirt.

Monday Moments - More Time at the Pool

The boys are seriously loving going swimming this summer. They are always very excited and look forward to going all week long.

Today, Shawn was swimming with the noodle all by himself. He was SO proud of himself!

Look, mom! I'm doing it!
(I LOVE how he beamed the whole time.)
It was pretty funny because at first he didn't realize he was on his own. He sort of freaked out a bit when his teacher told him she wasn't holding him. It wasn't long, though, before he was telling everyone there to look at him swimming. :)

At the pool there is a cold water faucet near the edge. His teacher connected a water noodle to hit and made a "fire hose" contraption. Jason thought it was the coolest thing.

Look at the hose, Shawn!

Of course, you know what came next, right?

Take that, Shawn!

Poor unsuspecting Shawn didn't have a clue he was about to get a face full of water. (For that matter, the teachers didn't know Shawn was about to get a face full of water, either. That put an end to the fire hose fun. lol)

~~~
Shawn's favorite thing from the day was swimming with Beth.
Jason's favorite thing of the day was playing games with grandma.
Monday Moments
I had to mark this occasion.
All three sitting...
Quietly...
In the same area even.
I tell you this doesn't happen very often!
Both Shawn and Jason agree that today's favorite thing was when Puttentang visited. :)
Monday Moments - Splish Splash, More Fun in the Bath
Here's a few more shots from bathtime. He loves, loves, LOVES splishing and a splashing in the bath!
Now if I could only get him to clean up all the water he splashes everywhere, then I'd be one happy girl!
Monday Moments - Money, Money, Money, Money....MOOONEEEY
Isaac put the boys to work today sorting his change.
They may not have known how much money they were sorting, but they both thought daddy is a very rich man! lol.
Monday Moments
Isaac and two of his boys checking out a little YouTube on his phone...
Exposing him to the fun of Droopy.
It was HIL-AR-IOUS!
Shawn and daddy rocked out to some music videos.
Singing along together.
Makes my heart happy!
Monday Moments
This weekend, I walked into Jack's room to find him sitting in his crib, stark naked from the waist down. His pants were tossed across the room. His diaper was in his hands. (I don't even want to think about what he was doing--or going to do for that matter--with that diaper in his hand. No scenario could possibly be good in that situation. Ew.)
"Jack, where are your pants? Why did you take your diaper off?" I said to him after my brain registered what was happening.
He looked at me and gave me the cutest grin. He raised his arms in the air, handed me the diaper, and said, "Saw ree."
Sigh.
How can I get upset when this kid throws in so much cute with the bad?! I am totally in trouble with this one, I tell you.
Monday Moments - The Dance
It didn't start any different than the countless other times Jack and I played on Shawn's bed, only just like that, this time became a moment I'll never forget.
Jack and I were in the middle of giggling over a serious pretend snore when Jason came in with one of Jack's wind up toys. Jason fiddled with it for a bit before he carefully selected a record, put it on the turntable, and wound up the toy so it could play its music. "Jack and Jill Go Up the Hill" tinkled out from its tiny speakers.
Jason turned to me, and asked me if I cared to dance. He grabbed my hands, we stood, and we began to move to the song.
After a few moments he cocked his head and gave me his brightest grin. "Bet you didn't know I could do that," he said with a laugh.
I smiled back at him as I struggled to keep the tears from rolling down my face. Back and forth we slowly stepped, swaying to the music. My entire body flooded with emotion while my boy and I had our first real dance together. I was so disappointed when the music ended, and the moment was over.
The best moments often occur when you least expect them to. That just makes them all the more special.
For me, this moment was magic, and I know I will hold it in my heart forever.
Monday Moments
Just the way we roll...
It doesn't matter to them which adult is on the bottom, either. If someone is down at their level, it's a free for all!
No, No
I keep telling Jack that saying, "No, no, no, no, no..." when he heads off to do something is a dead giveaway that he's up to no good. I don't think he believes me, because he is always so shocked that I've caught him in the act of some mischief. His face always makes me chuckle.
Then again, I'm not sure if it's a good thing that he continues to do what he clearly KNOWS is naughty or that he thinks I'm not going to notice he's doing it. Lol.
This one is going to keep me on my toes , I tell you!
Monday Moments - Little Helper
Jack just had to help me with the laundry today. When he helps, though, he really gets into his work. Some might even say he dives right in!
Cute help like this is hard to find! :-)
Monday Moments
It was a beautiful day today, so the boys and I took the opportunity to head outside to play. It's always fun, because man do my boys love their dirt/sand. :-)
Let's start with Mr. Shawn. Today he decided that merely playing beside the sandbox was not good enough. Today, it was only acceptable to be in the sandbox. (I find enough sand on this boy when he is outside the box. I figured it would take a month to get him cleaned up after playing in it!)
Hey look, mommy. It's a dirt plod...sod...um, what is this?
It's a dirt clod, Shawn.
Oh. Look, mommy. It's a dirt clod!
Look at this!
When you squeeze it really hard, it breaks! Poof!
Look, mommy. It's a teeny, tiny dirt plod...um, clod.
 Shawn was in his own version of heaven, I tell you that.
Jason, on the other hand, gravitated to the empty flowerbed. He collected rocks and used his bulldozer to move them around.
Look at my pile, mom. I'm about to move 'em to the dump truck.
See this rock right here? It's my favorite.
Yep. I like that one. (insert an emphatic head nod and eyebrow lift)
He also loved it. The fun culminated for him when he showed me the "plant" he found. He was so excited to show me it even still had its roots! Lol. We are now the proud cultivators of a beautiful little weed, which will probably flourish and overtake my barren flower bed.
Which leaves us with Mr. Tank. Now his experience began with the slide. He has now progressed to sliding on his own, thank you very much. He was quick to find, though, that he did want me close to catch him as he shot off the end. Too funny. (No pictures of the slide because I only have one set of hands, and I cannot figure out how to take pictures while making sure the brave one doesn't fall off the dang thing and break his neck!)
I've found that I have a lot of pictures of Jack's back. I swear
I am always running after this boy. Take this shot, for instance.
I bet you can guess what he wanted to do with those rocks.
Yep. Straight to his mouth. Sigh.
Now that I think about it, I have a lot of blurred shots of walls and the ground
from when I have to scramble to stop him from doing whatever mischief he was going to do.
Fine. Then I'll just take a look at this little green, leafy thing
in the dirt. No? I can't do that, either?
You never let me do ANYTHING, mommy!
It was such a nice day. I hereby declare that every week should be comprised of three day weekends--with the full time pay, of course.
Who's with me?
Just think of the adventures we could have!
