Friday Five
Jason and Jack are sick again. Shawn is still holding out and isn't sick...yet. I suspect he'll start to feel crummy Sunday night. You know, because why not? lol
~~~
Jack was too funny at Shawn's assembly yesterday. He thought the clapping was pretty fun, and even got into things enough to cheer for the kids getting their awards. It was pretty cute. :)
~~~
Shawn was pretty cute, too. After the assembly, he had a fabulous day at school the rest of the day, too. He really LOVED all of the attention. I really love that he had the chance to be celebrated!
~~~
We taught Jason what a pun is tonight. This should make things interesting in the days to come. Lol
~~~
The boys' love affair with money continues. Jason is obsessive about keeping his room clean (the living room, not so much) and chases poor messy Jack out of his room. Shawn has taken to playing with his coins and putting them back into his bank over and over again. Sigh.
I sure hope I am creating money moguls who will take care of me in my old age!

It's Award Time!
Shawn earned an award at school today! His award was for completing all of his work!
Shawn was quite taken with the principal giving him the award. He even got to say, "Thank you!" in the microphone. :)
Way to go, Shawn!

Mostly Wordless Wednesday
Jason discovered the Draw Something app on my iPad. I love watching him draw pictures for me to figure out. It also gives me a glimpse into the way his mind works. Usually he does a pretty good job with his pictures, although there have been a few times I had to think a little outside of the box to figure out what he meant. Here are a few of my favorites so far...

Conversations With 7 Year Olds
Me: "Where were you, Jay?"
Him: "I was reading in Jack's room."
Me: "Oh. What were you reading?"
Him: "Just the encyclopedia."

It's Shawn's Day!
7 years ago today, after 90 days in the NICU, we got to bring our Shawn home.
It's a day just for Shawn, something of a rarity for a twin. :)
To celebrate, Shawn got to pick what we did today.
Even though the options were fairly unlimited (within reason), he actually chose to stay at home today.
Mommy and daddy played with him whenever he asked. We played a LOT of cars. :)
He picked his favorite foods for breakfast and lunch, and got to go with daddy to get pizza for dinner.
He got to control the television, too. We watched his favorite movies and shows whenever he wanted!
Happy Homecoming Day, Shawn! Hope you had a great day!

Friday Five
One of Jack's bedtime stall tactics is to call out that he's hurt himself. The latest is, "Mooooom, I hurt my knee!" only instead of "knee", he says "kneed" because he's a little congested. It is pretty dang cute. :)
~~~
We got a notice from school saying that our Mr. Shawn is getting an award next week! We're so proud of him. Now we just have to wait to see what the award is for. Go Shawn!
~~~
Chores update: The big boys are doing super well with their chores! They, especially Jason, also are doing super well with remembering when they are supposed to get their allowance. lol
~~~
Shawn played with newspapers the other afternoon. Of course, once he was done, his hands were black with ink. As I was helping him wash his hands I told him we needed to get all the ink off of his hands.
"Ink? Like Monsters, Inc.?" he asked. It cracked me up. A bonus was that I got to give Shawn an English lesson on homophones while we were at it. I can't wait for him to pull that word out of his repertoire at school one day. :)
~~~
Sunday is Shawn's 7th Homecoming Day. The boys have been counting down to it for a while now. I've got a cake planned and his gift is ready to wrap. All we need is for Shawn to decide what he wants to do that day! Yea!

This Kid
Look at this kid.
He was so happy when he said, "Look! I'm in a cannon!"
I don't get shocked by his crazy antics anymore (although this time he surprised me), but sometimes I wonder if he's going to make it to his teen years...

Conversations With 7 Year Olds
After a crash in the bathroom...
Isaac: "Jason, are you okay?"
Jason: "Oh yeah, I'm okay. But there might be a little something wrong with my toothbrush now."
Jason: "Okay, fine. It might be a little broke. I don't how it happened, though."
Lol. Um, sure we believe you kid.

Little Helpers
We spent time working outside yesterday. Isaac put together the boys' trampoline, while I did some weeding in our now less so, but still overgrown backyard. (Yea for rain. Boo for the overgrowth after.)
The boys are all firmly in the "I want to help!" stage. That always makes things a bit more challenging but also more fun. :)

Friday Four
...because my brain is fried and I can't think of five.
~~~
Jason has discovered the app "Draw Something." He loves drawing pictures and having people try to guess what he created. He also loves to do the guessing. Tonight, he and I played the game, he on our iPad while I was on my phone.
I love, love, LOVE watching how his mind works as he draws and seeing what he creates. It's so much fun!
~~~
The big boys started back to school this week. They seemed to get back into the swing of things rather quickly, although both of them were a bit nervous Sunday night. :)
Can you believe we are pretty much half way through the school year? Seems like it is going really fast this year.
~~~
Speaking of school, every day I ask the boys how school went and to tell me something about their day. Wednesday, I asked Shawn how his day went. He gave me the usual "good" as his answer. Then I asked him if anything funny happened that day.
"Yes!" he replied. He tried to tell me what happened three different times but could never get through his story without erupting in uncontrolled laughter. Apparently one of the kids in their class fell out of his seat and crashed to the floor. Shawn thought that was the funniest thing he's every seen. He still can't talk about it without cracking up. lol.
~~~
The other day when I went to go pick up the boys, my mom had a bag of a bunch of craft supplies for me to take home. As we were getting ready to leave, I had the bag in my hands.
Jack came over and looked into the bag. He took out a few wreath rings to play with. I couldn't help but laugh when he took one of the rings, put it over his head, and declared, "Look! I Saturn!" as he spun around the room.
Too funny!

Melts My Heart
I probably won't do this sweetness justice, but I'll give it a try for memory's sake...
Recently, Jack has started a new thing. He will come find me, grab my hand, and pull me to where he wants me. He'll then go find his father and pull him to wherever I was left. Once we are together, Jack asks to be held (usually by daddy, but I'll do in a pinch).
As soon as he is up in Isaac's arms, Jack will wrap my arms around both of them. The tighter I wrap them in my arms, the better. Jack laughs and giggles while he snuggles in and will move his face from my lips to Isaac's, making us kiss him on his cheeks.
He usually only has us do this little kiss/dance for a few moments before he is ready to get down and head off on his way. But oh man, is it the best thing while it is happening. Makes my heart melt!

WWWFH #373 and 4
Where Will We Find Him now?
It was barely audible over the sound of the television. At first, we weren't even sure if we had heard anything at all. We quieted the TV for a few moments, but we heard nothing more.
A short time later, we heard it again. It was a noise. One of them was saying something, we had no idea what. This time, Isaac got up to investigate.
"Help, I'm stuck." Ah, there it was again. It was Jack. Of course it was.
Isaac came back to get me. We both know that there is no describing the predicaments this boy gets himself into. It's better to experience that which is Jack up front and personal.
He wasn't on his bed. We knew he wouldn't be. His bug night light was glowing in the center of his room. Placed strategically in a semicircle around his bed were all of his stuffed animals. They all faced in the same direction, as if to look the under the bed.
"Help me, I'm stuck." he pleaded again.
Isaac pulled back the mattress, and we found this.
Somehow he had wedged himself between the wall and the bed frame and THEN managed to get himself up over the cross rail of the bedframe.
And yes, I went back to get the camera. People wouldn't believe me about this boy's antics unless I have visual proof. He was really broken up about me taking pictures, too, as evidenced by this picture here.
Isaac pulled the bed away from the wall, so I could help him out. The second he was able, he jumped up and declared, "I'm fwee! I'm fwee!"
Sigh.
It would have been fine had this been the only time he managed to pretzel himself between the wall and his bedframe, but no it wasn't. He did the exact same thing the very next night.
Oh this kid. He's never boring, that's for sure. :)

Three on the Bed
Three on the bed, and the little one said, "Roll over!"
"Or I'll knock you down and knee you in the ribs..."
"And make you cry and shout!"
Ahem.
In all honesty, Isaac took these pictures to capture a sweet moment of them playing together. It looks worse than it was, but I don't think "sweet" is the best term to describe the aftermath. lol
