Friday Five
The boys' first week of testing is in the books. This week the focus was on Language Arts. Math is up next week.
We're so proud of both the boys for trying their best. Way to go, boys!
~~~
The awesome week at school led to a Target trip so the boys could pick out a toy. They were super delighted to see that the Cars 3 toys were out on display! June can't get here soon enough. They can't wait to see the new movie!
~~~
He said he felt sick. I told him he was fine. He came back like this.
~~~
Jack has his first appointment at the eye doctor next week. He didn't pass his school vision screening in one eye, so we are going to go have his eyes checked. (Of course, Shawn didn't pass his school screening either, but the ophthalmologist said the results from the school screening were waaaay off, so this doesn't necessarily mean his vision needs correcting. We shall see.) I don't know whether he'll need glasses or not, but I know he's going to be super cute either way. :)
~~~
We were SO excited to find this little beauty in the garden this afternoon!
We've been growing our artichokes for nearly a year, so it was pretty neat to see some fruit for our labor!

Camping Part 5
The boys had a fantastic time while we were camping. Not only did they get to do archery and arts and crafts, but they got to experience so much that they wouldn't have had the chance to experience otherwise.
They got to stay in an actual cabin!

Trying out the bed on the first night.
A glimpse of our cabin. (Shawn's mattress is on the floor in this picture.)
Another view of the room.
There was a dining hall where we all gathered to eat yummy meals and hang out.
Shawn and I outside of the dining hall.
Dancing to the music.
It's not a party unless you are able to dab a little.
The meals were all served "family" style.
Jay and I inside the dining hall.
Singing and dancing to some camp songs. That is Jason and the back of another of our Pals, Matt (white shirt there).
Waiting in line.
Shawn and I hung out on the grass instead. I thought this is such a sweet picture of Shawn!
Jason getting on to a boat.
They got to go fishing, too. Here they were catching turtles with hot dogs. lol. The kids would have to kiss the turtles and then release them back into the water. We didn't catch a turtle, but boy did the boys want to!
We can't wait to go back again!

Camping Part 4
I think the activity that ended up being the boys' favorite was arts and craft. The craft room was pretty much a crafter's fantasy. Anything you could possibly need was there ready for the kids to utilize as they unleashed their creative spirit. There were several different craft ideas out on the tables, but the Pals in the room were totally open to making whatever the kids dreamed come to reality. It was pretty awesome.
So much fun!

Shawn got right to work on painting a rock.
Our Pal, Kailee, helped Shawn create a rock extraordinaire.
Jack created a rock man. He was quite proud of it, too!
Jason's rock was cool. It had two faces.
Jack then went on to create a microphone - a must from everyone born to be on the stage.
Jason was looking for some supplies to create a globe. After he finished, they sent him next door to the wood shop to create a stand for it.
Creative minds at work, here.
Shawn also got to paint a wooden turtle!
Performing with his microphone.

Camping Part 3
The boys got to do lots of new things on our camping weekend, but one thing Jason really looked forward to was archery.
They started telling the boys the rules. Then one of the Pals set the boys up with their bows and arrows!
It was the first thing we did Saturday morning...
Waiting for our turn with our Pal, Kailee! (She was pretty awesome!)

They even had an adaptive set to help hold the arrow so Shawn could shoot, too.
They weren't too shabby at it, either. Shawn liked it enough to even go back for another attempt on Sunday morning. :) Lots of fun!

Camping Part 2
On Saturday night, the camp had a talent show. While the big boys weren't exactly interested in getting up on stage, Jack sure was. :)
I just about die from the cuteness every time I see this.

Camping!
We spent the weekend camping here! The boys had loads of fun, but whew, we are exhausted! More to come over the next few days. :)
