We still have a bit more to do, but the rooms are getting close to being finished! The boys are all pleased, too. It's a win!

Operation Room Swap!

Operation Room Swap is underway and has become a bigger project than we anticipated. The boys are excited. The parents are working hard.

Friday Five

We are all pretty giddy about this four day weekend ahead of us! It was much anticipated and much needed by all!

This weekend will be when we undertake "Project Room Swap." Jack and Jason are going to swap rooms, so now Shawn and Jack will be roommates and Jason will be solo. Everyone seems to be looking forward to the change of rooms except Jason. I think he's a bit nervous to be off on his own. I think he is going to LOVE it once he gets used to it.

If we are able to get through the rooms, the next project is to set up our flower beds and plant our seeds. We're all excited about that, too. We shall see what we can accomplish.

Isaac and I have been doing some fun things this week. First, we finished a (harder than expected) puzzle. We also did a Valentine's Day craft together. Yay!

Calculated the work Jack gets each day. I'm adding it here for prosperity. This is what a 4th grade student (Jack) gets to do for online schooling during a pandemic:

120 minutes of live instruction via Zoom

20 minutes - PE

20 minutes - Lexia (reading program)

10 minutes - ST math (math program)

10 minutes - Freckle (he uses the math program)

20 minutes - AR (5 point goal a month)

1 Newsela article and quiz - (online article and comprehension program)

20 minutes - Social Studies (typically involves a video from YouTube and an activity/questions)

20 minutes - Art (typically involves a YouTube video and project)

+ whatever was not completed during class (typically a chapter of reading/questions and a math worksheet)

I'm pretty sure that Jack has more work to do than his brothers who are in 7th grade. They have 3 classes a day (they alternate between periods 1-3 and then 4-6) for 30 minutes of live instruction. They have homework beyond that, but it definitely isn't as much as what Jack does.
