Field Trip!

Jack and his class got to go on their first field trip today! They went to a local farm and picked strawberries, listened to a presentation, fed some animals, played in the hay, and even visited their first portapotties! Lol. They had a great time, too!

On his first bus ride!

Getting Closer!

The boys' school year is winding down. Today, the big boys turned in their iPads...

Tomorrow, Jack has a field trip to the farm.

There is talk of an "Old Fashioned Day" on Friday with some sort of game activities going along with it. (I was asked by middle child if I wanted to volunteer to bring a watermelon to school. Your guess is as good as mine as to what that would be for!)

A field day has been planned...

13 days until school is out for the boys. Bring on the summer! We're SO ready!

Boo!

The stinker tried to scare me by jumping out of my closet. Good thing he isn't exactly quiet when he hides. ;) Then he wanted me to take his picture while he scares me. LOL!

Honored

We are so proud of Jason! Today he received the Superintendent's award for his class.

He didn't know he was going to get an award today, and he definitely didn't know we were going to be there. He looked a little sad at first when he got up on stage. Then he gave us this look when he saw that we were there. It was too cute!

Way to go, Jay!

We are very proud of you!!!

Um...

As he comes out of my bathroom: "Mom, if you see little black things coming out from under your deodorant, it's a spider. I caught one for you."

😳😳😳

And for the record, it was under my toothpaste tube.

Jack's Story

(Dictated to me)

"A circus turkey juggled some balls. Jason got into a big bad. Shawn put the bag in a cannon. Jack got a fire stick and lit the fuse. The cannon boomed the bag away!

Jack turned into a panda bear. He was so cute.

Jack is just like the orange Jason. Then Jackson turned into a koala.

Shawn turned into a fish!

Dad turned into an octopus.

The end."

Hiding

"Look for me. I'm hiding!"

Somehow, I'm not sure that's an adequate hiding spot, kid. LOL

The Right Way

I had to laugh at Shawn today. I gave him a handful of M&Ms, and he immediately set out sorting them into color groups. Lol!

He proceeded to eat said M&Ms in the following pattern: yellow, brown, green, orange, blue, and then red. :) The order was especially funny to me--because I would eat my sorted M&Ms in pretty much the same order. Ha!

Cute Big Boy Saturday

I don't know what happened, because when I hit the button for his picture we were all smiling. Lol

The big boys got into bed with us this morning. ❤️

Friday Five

The countdown toward the end of the school year continues. The boys have only 19 school days left! Woo who!

In fact, the boys turn in their school issued iPads next week also. This is a pretty significant sign that the end is near, as they use the iPads just about every day in class! :)

~~~
Our adventure in farming continues. We now how 5 artichokes growing on the plants! We are so excited every time we see them. I can't wait until they are big enough to eat.
Note to self: must look up how to know if artichokes are ready to be cut...
~~~

Jack has decided he is very into making books. (And yes, this makes me very happy. lol) Tonight's book was a menu. He then made me "wait" on him so he could "order" his dinner. It cracked me up.

~~~
Shawn used his class points to "buy" a turn at Show and Tell on Monday. He still hasn't decided what he'll take, but it is so exciting that he wanted to go to the front of the class and talk. This is a big deal...Shawn is much more likely to be quiet and a bit passive in class. Yay!
~~~

Jason lost his 12th tooth this week! It's crazy to think that he has lost so many baby teeth! I guess this is just one more reminder that he isn't so much a baby any more. Sniff, sniff.

Fun and Games

On our way to Arizona last weekend, we stopped at a hotel that had a game room. It was a huge hit for the boys. They had a blast!

They've all decided that we have to stay there again the next time we do a trip! lol

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

Today's story. By Jack.

This is the story of the tortoise and the hare.
The turtle was awake from his bed.

The hare wins. It wins the race to the finish line.
The end.

Meteor Crater

On our way home from Arizona, we stopped at the Meteor Crater. The boys were pretty impressed with the size of the crater, and they LOVED learning all about the crater and other meteors/meteorites that have been discovered.

View from the outside observation deck.

The bottom was so far down!

All of my boys standing out on the observation deck. :)
It was super windy out there!

Jason watching the re-enactment of the meteor striking the desert.

This was a display in which the kids could listen in on phones
while a scientist talked about his discovers. Shawn particularly liked
this attraction.

Jack read quite a bit of this before he needed help!

Jason exploring the bottom of the crater...
or at least looking like he is!

Jack at the bottom of the crater...lol

Shawn liked this display, too!

Jack's favorite part was a movie theater that showed a detailed
reenactment of the meteor striking the earth.

I think we must have read every single word in that place. lol. The boys had a great time!
