What has been the best thing we've done this summer? 

Jack: "Swimming. Going to the beach and getting in the waves. They pushed me down!"

Jason: "I liked the zoo because I got to see so many different types of animals."

Shawn: "Swimming in the pool is my favorite. I'm getting good at swimming."

What is one thing you still want to do this summer?

Jack: "Let's see the Lion King in the movies!"

Jason: "I still would like to do a hotel room or something."

Shawn: "I want to go on an adventure and find a haunted house."

Question: What do you know enough about that you could teach others?

Jason: Basic and medium math problems. I teach the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I teach the basics of exponents. Yeah, that is pretty much it.

Shawn: Um...cars. I know you race them after you put them on the track. I know all the different kinds of Cars characters. I think you would like Jack DePost the best.

Jason: I could teach about regular cars, too.

Jack: I could teach you about being tall and being on a roller coaster. I could teach you how to play Planet Pilkey, too.

What do you think your life will be like in the future?

Jason: Hm...what I want my life to be like or what I think it will be like? Hm...I'll probably get higher than a master's degree, hopefully. I feel like I'm going to make a powerful engineering company and I'm going to buy the rights to different famous companies and make a lot of money.

Jackson: I'm going to drink some milk to get tall and go to an amusement park and ride all the kid rides. I'm going to go to school. I'm going to pet the cat and feed the fish.

Shawn: I'm going to live in a big home. I'm going to do something with cars. I'm going to live with my family (and his mama--lol). I'm going to be very happy.

Shawn: I would be Harry, because um...he's my favorite. He does a lot of things.

Jack: Dumbledore because he was old.

Jason: (He had to really think about this one...) I like them all. I would be Severus Snape because even though he may have seemed evil, he had good inside of him.

Shawn: I play with my friends Andy and Miguel. We talk a lot.

Jason: Play pretend with my friends. Sometimes we pretend to be different animals.

Jack: Play on the playground. I play on the monkey bars and the rock climb and the ladder. I play by myself and with friends. I play soccer with Justin. I play basketball with my friends in PE. I play hula hoop.

If you could grow anything in the yard, what would it be?

Jason: I'd grow genetically modified watermelons that could be grown all year. I'd also grow bamboo to give me a source of wood.

Shawn: I'd have a garden. I would grow tomatoes.

Jack: Plants with thistles. I would grow flowers. Roses with thorns. I would grow a fruit and vegetable tree. I would have pine trees.

What is your favorite game to play on the iPad?

Jack: I like to play Temple Run. I collect coins. Monkeys chase me. I jump over a bridge and turn to miss the cliff.

Jason: I like to play Asphalt 8. It's a racing game. It's a good game because it allows me to do some things I wouldn't able to use in real life like drive on the wrong side of the road.

Shawn: I like to play Snail Bob because he always gets squished.

Jason: "Me. I make me awesome. My smarts and my wits also make me awesome."

Jack: "Doing my homework (makes me awesome). I did very good work."

Shawn: "My laugh...and my funny faces."

😍I never know what I'm going to get in their answers. I love that part!

Question: If you could make up a new holiday, what would it be?

Shawn - My holiday would be every Wednesday. It would be called "My Day." We would celebrate by blowing out candles on a chocolate cake.

Jason - My holiday would be "The Day of the Cat" on December 1. We would make a cat shaped cake and then pet cats all day. It would be every 5 years.

Jackson - I would make up Valentine's Day. We would make cards. We would put candy in boxes. We would "delivery" them. We'd give a big hug. And a kiss and a snuggle. We're done. (His holiday sounds eerily familiar. LOL)

What bugs you?

Jason: Uh...what bugs me? My brothers. Ha Ha. Mostly them. They bother me. They pester me. (There was no hesitation here. LOL)

Jack: Nothing. (I asked him if he was sure.) No...nothing bothers me.

Shawn: Nothing. (Come on Shawn. Nothing bothers you? What bothers you?) Hm...bugs. (Bugs?) Yeah, bugs bother me. (What bugs?) Oh, bees and flies. And butterflies sometimes, too.

LOL. This question was asked during iPad time, which may or may not have meant they were less interested in answering than normal.

Question: If you wrote a book, what would it be about?

Jack: "Uh, a car, listening to my heart, and learning about sportsmanship."

Jason: "Science fiction - it would be a fictional disaster or something. There'd be a few scientists in it. It would a fantastic story."

Shawn: "I'd write about (Cars 3) cars. They'd be racing."

Jack: I like the candy canes. (For the record, he doesn't like candy canes. I am not sure why he chose that to say! LOL)

Jack (attempt #2 later that evening): Presents...and candy canes! (Ha! He has candy canes on the brain, I guess!)

Shawn: I like the presents. I hope I get two presents this year. (How sweet is this?!)

Jason: My favorite part is spending time with family... Okay. I like the presents, too. (LOL!)

Jason: I'd be in the audience. I got fired.

Jack: I'd be the Strong Man -- I'd be the heaviest lifter!

Shawn: I'd be the lion tamer. I like lions.

What sounds do you like?

Jason: Car engines and cat purrs...both of them make me feel happy/

Jack: Singing by a rock star. It makes me feel better.

Shawn: I like the sound of cars honking and beeping. They make me feel nice.

(Had to laugh that both Jay and Shawn talked about car sounds. They didn't hear each other answer either. Sometimes the similarities in how they think surprises me.)

Shawn: I'd talk to a bear. I'd want to know why he makes the noises that he makes. (By this, I assume he means growls, but who knows. He wouldn't elaborate. LOL)

Jason: I'd ask a cat how to speak it's language.

Jack: I would ask a lion to come here. (Oh boy.)
