Mission Project

Jack worked so hard on his project and paragraph!

Here is his paragraph:

"I made the San Buenaventura mission for my project. I learned many interesting things about it. First I learned it has five bells. They were borrowed from Mission Santa Barbara. Second, I learned it was founded in 1782 on March 31. It was founded by friar Junipero Serra. It was the ninth mission. Third, I learned Chumash people live there. They made leather, wine, and olive oil. I also learned the bells would tell them to do things like when to have breakfast. Lastly I learned this was the only mission that had wooden bells that were used only during the week before Easter. The San Buenaventura mission is an interesting place to visit."

I think he did a FABULOUS job!

Clay Pumpkins

We decided to get our craft on and make some fall pumpkins with clay. It was pretty fun. Each boy got a 5 pound tub of clay and had at it. They shaped them and added pumpkin details. Jason's even had leaves!

Jason's pumpkin ended up being the largest. Shawn's was the smallest. (**No picture of Shawn. ☹️)

Crafting Saturday

Today we crafted and made ourselves some polymer clay trinket dishes. So fun!

Jack's is the upper left; Jason's is the upper right (he
also made the little figure; Mine is the lower left;
Shawn's is the lower right.

We do have one more step to do, which is to paint the exposed edge. We'll do that tomorrow. They did a great job!
