Jason got a little wet while watching a roller coaster at Sea World. LOL

Men's Camp Out!

The one thing that Shawn has asked to do all summer long is to have a camp out. This weekend, we were finally able to make that happen. He was beside himself! So excited!!

Putting up the tent!

So. Excited!

Hanging out by the camp fire. :)

Cooking some hot dogs on the grill.

More cooking.

We ate a lot of hot dogs. lol

Then we had to make some smores and cook marshmallows!
Can't have a camp out without that!

Shawn all snuggled in the tent.

Jack and Jay snuggled up in the tent.
We all hung out together until it got to be time to get ready for bed. At that point, mom went inside so the boys and daddy could have a fun night in the tent. Everyone made it through the night, too, which made the boys quite pleased with themselves. When they got up, daddy turned the camp fire back on so they could sit outside and warm up a little before breakfast. (Even breakfast was done like they were in camp -- granola bars and fruit. lol!)

They had a blast!

These Two

These two were making like they liked each other at Sea World. I had to take a picture to capture the moment. ;)

Growing UP

Can't believe how grown up these guys look in this caricature. What happened to my babies?!

Friday Five

One goal we have this summer is to watch as many new movies as we can. So far we've seen:

  • Sword in the Stone (Disney version)
  • Space Buddies
  • Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
  • Primates of the Seven Seas (cartoon)
They've liked all the movies we've seen so far. I've got a list of some older movies to watch, too. It will be fun to share them with the boys. :)

~~~
This summer has brought us outside every single day except the last two days. Feels strange that we didn't get into the pool!
~~~

Monday saw the end of our refrigerator. That has led us to a new refrigerator, which won't come until Sunday. So, for the last four days (and 2 more to go) we have been living out of a cooler and mini fridge. It's been interesting...and a reminder that we are fans of the modern age. lol

~~~
Tomorrow we're going to try banana pudding edible slime. I'm not for the edible part (although I bet Jack will be), but it is supposed to smell really good. That part I like. lol. We shall see how it goes.
~~~

We also found a new You Tube channel called Art for Kids Hub. We're going to practice drawing some cool things tomorrow, too! Should be really fun!

Friday Five

The boys have spent every single day outside in the pool. They are loving it!

~~~
Speaking of swimming, I am going through suntan lotion like there is no tomorrow. I invested in some long sleeved rash guards to see if that helps. Fingers crossed!
~~~

Jason had a check-up at the pediatrician yesterday. He is doing so well! He's now 79 pounds (no wonder I could barely carry him to bed the other day!) and is right on target. He even handled his shot like a BOSS. :)

~~~
Shawn has been looking forward to Friday all week so he can go to a "new" Target. LOL. This kid is on a mission to complete his summer bucket list item - to visit as many different Targets as he can so he can complete his car collection. :)
~~~

Shawn was sitting on the couch, eating a hot dog this week when he called out, “Mom, my tooth fell out.” I didn't believe him at first. He was still chewing, how could his tooth fall out?! Sure enough, he held out his tooth, a molar, and told me it looked like the Tooth Fairy was due for a visit. lol

He surprises me every single time. He never says a word about anything being loose until he hands me a tooth.

Swimming!

This happened today!

They. Had. A. Blast! Their favorite part of summer is swimming, I think. :)

Friday Five

The first day of summer vacation is down for the boys. The slept in, watched some tv, went for Burger King for lunch, and played outside. They're doing summer right!

~~~
Shawn got to go to a new Target today. His summer may have already been made. LOL
~~~

It's been warm, so we really do need to set up the pool this weekend. The boys can't wait!

~~~
Yesterday, Jack performed in his class play. He was the cutest little alligator around!
He's in the center doing his alligator chomp here. :)
~~~

One more week of school for me and then I get to celebrate summer with everyone else. I can't wait!

Summer Bucket List 2018

Today, Jason asked about our Summer Bucket list. If that isn't reason enough to get things rolling on our summer list of fun, I'm not sure what would be. Besides, we're getting down to the last of the school year -- only 17 days left for the boys and 21 days left for me - so, clearly, our time to compose our list is running out.

When asked what we should add to the list, Jay thinks we should have big things and little things on our list this year. He suggested we include playing Xbox (he tried to add that he would play with mom or dad, but I'm pretty sure he was really wanting to play with his friends on Xbox Live). We'll be looking for more ideas over the next few weeks!
