Conversations With 2 Year Olds

I told Jack he was stinky when he passed gas this afternoon. He turned and said, "No. You stinky momma."

Okay, then. Glad we settled that.

Say What?

Oh these boys are always at it ...

J: Mom, I like the National Album.
Me: It's the "National Anthem" not "Album."
J: Yeah, I like that one, too.
J (a few seconds later): Especially if it's country.

~~~
Me: Shawn, let's go do your homework now.
S: Wait just a minute, momma. I'm talkin' to Jason.
Me: Let's go, Shawn.
S: Mom. I'm almost finished.
S: Jason, whatcha' doing?
Me: Sigh.
~~~

J: Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. Mary had a little lamb, its face was white as snow...

~~~
Jack (while standing outside yesterday morning): Bye, bye black ducks!
Me: Uh, Jack, those are crows!
Oh This 2 Year Old
Jack is a notoriously picky eater. Most things don't even get the slightest consideration before they are thrown to the floor or the offering is deflected by two of the fastest hands in existence.
At my mom's house today, she offered Jack a piece of orange. He studied it for a bit before he let her know that he didn't want it. My mom took the orange and ate it herself, all while making the obligatory "yum, yum, mmm, mmm" noises you make to show the watching child that he is missing out on something really tasty and he really should try some.
What was Jack's response while she ate?
She swears she heard him say, "Delicious!" (which is a new word, I might add)
Apparently watching someone else eat and enjoy food is good enough for him because NO he still didn't want any. LOL
Conversations With 2 Year Olds
Jack, do you want your sandwich?
No.
Ok. Give me the sandwich.
No.
Are you going to eat it?
NO!
(I take it from him and hold up some fruit.) Do you want peaches or pears?
... (looks away)
Do you want peaches?
No.
Okay. Here are some pears.
NO!
(I give them to him anyway. He starts eating.) Mmm. Yummy pears.
No.
Sigh. Do you want your drink?
No.
Jack, you're killing me here!
Dinosaur. Rawwwwrrrrr...
Well that clears things up, now doesn't it.
