Friday Five
We are all playing hooky from school/work today while we are on our trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We left after school yesterday. We'll be here through tomorrow afternoon.
~~~
Shawn was so looking forward to his hotel trip, but I think this adventure has caused some extra anxiety for him. Poor guy. We have looked around the lodge and done a little bit of small things, but he hasn't enjoyed how loud it is. So, we left the other two to go into the water park with dad, and Shawn and I headed out to Target! lol (It should be noted that this was a much nicer Target that ours around home, so it was actually a fun trip within the trip!)
~~~
Jason and Jack are having the time of their lives! I think I heard, "This is the best trip ever!" more than a few times since we've been here. LOL
~~~
On another note, they've finally released the vaccine for kids 5-11! The earliest appointments I could find were on Sunday, but they were taken before I could submit our info online. They went FAST. So, Jack's appointment is on Monday. We can't wait!
Friday Five
How can it be that our summer is almost over? It went WAY too fast for our liking.
~~~
Everyone has school registration next week. Jack has his on Monday. The big boys have theirs on Tuesday.
I have to admit that I am still very much on the fence as to whether we can safely have everyone return to school. I was not exactly comforted by their district's safety plan moving forward, but I am even more disappointed with the district's offering for students who are unable to return to school. It isn't a good place to be.
~~~
The wasps have invaded the milkweed, and the wasps have invaded our garden. Grr!
~~~
I've slacked off of picture taking this week. I don't know why. I do know it makes posting on the blog much harder to not have pictures. lol
~~~
We went to the zoo today! We were quite pleased that the zoo kept the crowds to a minimum, so we were able to actually see all of the animals with ease. It was nice!
We wore our masks, of course. I had to chuckle when Jack told 2 different people to pull their masks up over their noses. (OMG!) We never really talked about that, but there he was being helpful. lol
~~~
I have to see if we can fit at least one more adventure in before our summer ends. Fingers crossed!

Camping Part 2
This trip was a short but sweet trip down to a KOA campsite relatively close to us. We once again went with renting a cabin because I'm not sure we are the kind of people who can do without a bathroom at our disposal. LOL.
We had loads of fun while we were there, too!
Roasting some marshmallows
and hanging out with dad.
Our iconic picture of Shawn. This is his first activity no matter where we are. He LOVES to check out the bed. He likes to lean back, put his hands behind his head, and chill. LOL
Jason, Jack, and dad rented a bike to ride around the campsite.
Meanwhile, Shawn and I strolled around the site ourselves. (This is just before we headed out.)
The cabin had a loft area that was a favorite of Jack's.
Jack found the deep end and fell in love again. He found he could hop along the bottom and move around when he wasn't swimming. He was a fan of that for sure.
The jumping pillow was fun, too.
Snuggling with two of my boys one morning.
Jack and Jason went for a swim just before we left. Their favorite part of the whole trip!

Holiday Lights
On Monday we went to go see Christmas lights at a local drive through light display at our fair grounds. The boys had so much fun! There were so many cool lights and displays and all enjoyed themselves. After we were done with that, we went down the local streets to see more Christmas light displays. So fun!
I forgot to take pictures at the drive through display, but thankfully, my sister-friend took some pics. I'm borrowing hers to show here. (Thanks, Ma!)

Night of the Jack
On Sunday we did Night of the Jack, which is a drive through Halloween experience. We were able to see thousands of carved jack-o-lanterns and scenes. The boys had a good time!
Sadly, what looked like amazing picture opportunities as we were driving through, look less like amazing picture opportunities at home and more like blurred messes. Oh well. I can only do so much. LOL. So, for memory's sake, here are some snaps of our adventure.
