Friday Five

Wouldn't you know it that two boys woke up with stuffy noses this morning? I told both of them that they were imagining things. I'm not sure they believe me. lol

~~~
One day this week, Shawn woke up around 4 am and was unable to go back to sleep. By the time morning rolled around and it was time to get up, Shawn had reached the point of exhaustion that makes a person feel sick to their stomach. Sigh. He ended up going back to sleep for a little bit and woke up just fine (like I knew he would). He got to school about an hour and fifteen minutes late, but he went! lol
~~~

Jack lost his fifth tooth tonight!

~~~
Our backyard reno is inching closer to the finish line. Can't. Wait.
~~~

Today the boys were too cute. While Isaac and I were doing some things around the backyard, the boys got together to play "school." Shawn was the teacher. :)

Mostly Wordless Wednesday - Family Shot

Love this photo! I don't know how she did it, because some people were less than cooperative (I'm looking at you, Jack), but yay!

Love!

Friday Five

Day 2 of the school year is in the books. The boys all had a good day today, but I have to say, they were all very appreciative of the weekend. School is exhausting when you've just come from the lazy days of summer.

When Jack came home, he looked especially worn out.

Poor guy!

~~~
Well, the backyard continues to near completion. We only have the facade of the planter wall left to finish. This weekend we'll be re-filling the planter with dirt and hopefully replanting all of our plants. (They will certainly appreciate that!)
~~~

I am especially proud of Shawn today. He has always been on the shy side in the classroom, but today our boy volunteered to go up to the board and answer a question in front of the class! So awesome! I am hoping this is a sign of a very positive year to come!

~~~
Over the summer, the boys were asked to read. We read each night at bedtime for a total of 16 ish hours of reading and managed to finish 8 different books. Jason upped the ante for himself and read an additional 850+ pages on his own! How awesome is that?! In the end, he finished 5 more books on his own and is in the process of reading two more. Way to go, Jay!
~~~

We had to reschedule our family pictures we were going to take July to tomorrow. I can't wait to see them, and we haven't even taken them yet! I am not the best at being patient. lol

We finally have a place to put out our pool. The boys were ecstatic about finally get a chance to enjoy our new backyard!

This last photo cracks me up. It's our version of "see no, speak no, hear no!"

Summer Bucket List 2016 - Living Room Sleepover/Camp Out!

Last night we had our first ever Family Living Room Sleepover/Camp Out.

While the big boys were gone at therapy, I set up the living room.

I hung blankets from the ceiling to mimic a tent.

Another angle of the blanket tent.

I also pulled all of their mattresses into the living room so they covered the floor.
When they got home, they were so surprised. It really set the mood for the rest of the night.

We had a little popcorn snack. They even got to eat in bed this time!

Isaac had gotten some dollar store glow sticks and lanterns, which helped add to the ambiance.

They did a little rough housing, too. lol

We had a little pizza for dinner while we waited for it to get dark. Once it did finally get dark enough, we turned out the lights and let them play. I think this might have been Jack's favorite part.

Pretty soon, it was time to roast marshmallows to make s'mores. It was National S'mores Day, so of course we had to celebrate that. We put a little portable grill of Isaac's into the fireplace. It was perfect.

After dessert, we settled back into the dark for a new movie. We watched "Kung Foo Panda 2". It was a hit, too!

They all stayed up until about 10:30, which is really late for our crew. It was definitely a fun night for Team Lopez!
