Perfect Monday Moment

Today I just downloaded the pictures from our Friday trip to the zoo. I totally love this shot of the big boys...

Shawn was sitting at this picnic table all by himself. Jason saw him there alone and had to go over to sit there, too. They started out talking to each other across the table, but after a few minutes, they were sitting next to each other on the same side.

They are really beginning to enjoy being around each other now, and it is so heartwarming to see their relationship develop into something more than just brothers.

Monday Memories - Pumpkin Patch

This year, we ended up going to two pumpkin patches. The first place we went, there weren't many pumpkins to choose from and the patch itself was just overall disappointing. We left the patch without any pumpkins.

I did manage to get a few pictures, though. ;-)

No one cooperates when I try to get group photos.

I told Jason he could get whichever pumpkin he wanted,
he just had to be able to carry it. This is what happened with that idea...
I think he almost gave himself a hernia!

Today we went to a differnt pumpkin patch, and the boys had a blast! It was such a fun afternoon!

Perfect Moment Mondays - Explosions!

Today we did another science experiment! A little baking soda, some food coloring, and some vinegar = fun, fun, fun!

What's going to happen, mommy?

Oh, wow! It's a geyser! (Yes, he used that word!)

It stopped bubbling. Let's do it again!

My volcano is green, mommy! Cool!

Shawn thought the bubbles were awesome.

So awesome, that he wasn't pleased when it was Jason's turn again.

I think we need more color in this one, mom.

Shawn got his second turn, but I had to put the camera down to supervise him a little more closely. Let's just say that he wanted to pour his volcano on the table...the floor...just about everywhere but in the pan. Ahem.

Afterward, we did the talk about what happened. (I even got all technical and brought in the big terms like "base" and "acid." lol) They were quite impressed and would have done the experiment many more times had our supplies held out longer. I had to promise to go to the store and get more baking soda asap.

Perfect Moment Monday - Two Minutes

After a long, eventful day, one without a nap, my boy said tonight, "Mommy, I want to go to bed for some love."

And that is just what we did.

We got in his bed (no small feat as it is a toddler bed!) and snuggled...

for about two minutes.

Then he told me not to move, got up, and left the room to play with his cars.

That's okay.

I'll take two minutes over nothing anytime. :-)

Tonight, the big boys were in the mood to love on their little brother. Shawn started things going by asking to hold Jack. Look at his face...

Awwww....Look at me!

He was so excited to sit there with his little bro. (Is it just me, or does Jack's head look as big as Shawn's?)

They're so proud of their little brother. It makes my heart so happy to see it. :-)
