Friday Five

The boys have each read 4 books to earn their 6 ride tickets for the fair! They also had to write short summaries about what they read. Way to go, boys!

Jason has been working especially hard. He's already read seven books for a total of over 700 pages since summer began! Awesome job!

~~~
I had to go to a training today. The boys were not happy about me "leaving them behind." lol. I hate to tell them, but they probably had a LOT more fun than I did!
~~~

Our fluffy slime experiment was a bit messier than I expected. That stuff was everywhere! We are going to try the slime making one more time to see if we have better results. It will have to wait until I can get more supplies, though. We went through a container and a half of glue, 2 cans of shaving cream, and an entire bottle of saline! Sheesh.

~~~
One thing Jack likes to do when the big boys are at therapy on Wednesdays is to help me bake, and this week was no different. He's getting pretty handy at cracking eggs and reading the directions! :)
~~~

Shawn is super excited about all the new Cars characters that are out now because of the release of Cars 3. I don't know how he does it, but he remembers every single one's name (and trust me when I tell you there are lots of them). Hopefully we'll be able to make it to the new movie sometime this summer!

Summer Bucket List 2017 - Making Slime

Today we made slime!

The boys mixed glue, shaving cream, and saline solution.

Shawn added a bit more shaving cream to the mix.

Then the mess making began!

And mess making they did. ;)

Shawn was less interest in the whole mess making idea.
He did not like the texture of it. LOL (You couldn't tell that by his face, could you?)

The other two, however, LOVED the mess making. lol

Trying to build up muscles that are as tall as he is. ;)

Summer Bucket List 2017

Today we did the first thing from our bucket list. Jason and I made butter!

Our ingredients: jar, marble, and heavy cream

Place marble in jar. Then pour in cream.

Tighten lid on jar. Shake.

And shake.

Get tired of shaking and maybe use a little rolling action.

Get even more tired and use a little electric help. ;)

Then you have butter!

Add a little homemade bread (and a bit of salt to the butter), and you've got yourself a yummy treat!

It received the coveted "thumbs up" award. This is a high honor around these parts.

Fun!

Cute Big Boy Saturday

Trying a little taco de lengue...

Both called it a hit!

Friday Five

Today was my last day of school. We are all out for summer vacation! Let the good times roll!

~~~
Jason lost tooth number 15 today. He is currently missing 4 teeth-one on each side of his mouth. I wonder how many more teeth he has to lose? lol
~~~

We've made it part of the plan that the boys try new foods at least once a week. This week, the boys had tacos de lengua (tongue). Surprisingly, it was a hit! :)

~~~
We got a few fidget sticks this week, and it has been fun trying to do tricks with them. None of us has been very successful, but we've been trying. We do manage to occasionally get the sticks to stand, too. (It is also quite frustrating! lol)
~~~

Did I mention that we are ALL now out for summer vacation?! Seriously, that's a huge deal. lol

And after writing that, I may have figured out where Shawn, who has lately been using the word "seriously?" regularly, may have learned it. Ahem.

No explanation needed. :)

Whoopee!

Cushion, that is. The boys have been having a blast with a whoopee cushion Isaac bought at the dollar store. Doesn't matter where they are in the house, when they hear the noise, they roll with laughter. Too funny!

Happy Father's Day!

Dad with his boys...

The boys made their dad a key chain of their hand prints. I think it came out super cute, and their dad thinks so, too!

Happy Father's Day to the best dad ever! We all love you very much!

Hope you had a great day!

Cute Big Boy Saturday

The tradition continues. We took the boys to Toys R Us to celebrate the end of the school year. Each boy got to spend $20 on whatever they wanted. The possibilities were endless. They had a blast searching for just the right thing. So fun!

Shawn chose some Cars 3 figures and some Hot Wheels cars.

Jason chose some Pokémon cards, a fidget spinner, and a car.

Jack also chose some Cars 3 figures and a squishy ball.

Yay for the end of the school year!!!
