This blog's very first post was a video documenting my pregnancy and the birth of the dynamic duo. Remember this?
It brings it all back when I look at those pictures--the happiness, the excitement, and of course the fear. Those were tough times, for sure. Our boys had a rocky beginning.
They really have come so far in these 4 short years!
Team Lopez is incredibly thankful for the dedication and skill of the NICU team which cared for the boys in those early days. We are also thankful for the March of Dimes. Without the funding and research provided by the March of Dimes, several life saving advancements (surfactant is one example) would not have been available to help our boys survive their early birth.
That is why we are participating in this year's March for Babies. Our boys are here, in part, because of them.
The March for Babies walk is only 15 days away. Team Lopez is proud that we've raised $597.00 so far for this important charity (because of your generosity!), but we still have a ways to go before we hit our goal of $1000. We would love it if you'd consider supporting Team Lopez and the March of Dimes. It really is such a worth cause!
Not sure how much to donate? A meaningful contribution might be:
$28.30 for the number of weeks gestation the boys were.
Or maybe $59, the number of days I spent on complete bed rest.
Or what about $17, the number of days I spent in the hospital before and after their birth.
$15.25 to represent Shawn's length at birth.
Or $15.00 to represent Jason's length at birth.
Or how about $47.00 to represent the number of ounces (2 pounds & 15 ounces) the boys were at birth.
There is also $90.00 - to represent the length of Shawn's NICU stay
Or $100.00 - to represent the length of Jason's NICU stay
Or even $12.00 - to represent the number of weeks early they were born
$46 to represent they dynamic duo's age -- 4 and a half years old
