This week brought with it Santa Ana winds and high fire danger. Overnight, we had some fires pop up around us, so the air quality was horrible, too. Ugh. Definitely gives a bit of a flashback to the fire season over the last two years. Not fun at all.
The wind is supposed to stop this weekend, which is good. Fingers crossed that things calm down.

Jack has weekly spelling tests. He has been KILLING them! I'm so impressed with how well he does. I think he's only missed one word since the start of the school year, and that word was "reign." (I have to give him a pass on that word, too. It doesn't follow the rules like a good little word AND it's not one we use much. 🤷) Not too shabby, kid!

Jack also happily retook his school pictures this week. He was quite pleased with his new haircut, which in turn, made him extra excited to get them done. He tells me he smiled this time. LOL. We shall see what we get.
I don't know whether the big boys will have a make-up picture day. I'd like for both of them to get them redone, too. It pains me to pay that much for pictures that are just not the best.

I've been feeling kind of cruddy because of the wind, and Shawn has been extra sweet about checking on me. He follows me from room to room "making sure" I'm alright. He feels my head on the regular and has announced I must clearly be sick. Too cute.

This day, twelve years ago, I was in the hospital with the dynamic duo. I had ruptured membranes from baby A, and was in the hospital waiting for the second steroid shot to improve the lung function in case they were born early...
It so strange to think about that time. Hard to believe it was 12 years ago, too. ❤️
(Really hard to believe that their birthday will be here in 16 short days!)
