Cute Boy Saturday - The End of the Crib

This week we decided to do away with the crib. In all reality, we had to. The boy is 41.5" long and the crib is only 51.5ish" long. He couldn't move without banging on the sides of the crib somewhere.

Jack's last night in the crib.
Sniff...sniff...sniff...
On Friday, the boys went over to grandma's house. While they were gone, I set about to making Jack's room into a full fledge big boy room.

I used Sesame Street as the theme and went at it.

Sunny day
Sweepin' the clouds away

On my way to where the air is sweet...
(I ran out of the 's' and 'w' and had to order them. lol)

Come and play!
(missing another letter 'n')
When the boys came home later that afternoon, they were all super impressed, especially Jack.

He looked around and kept repeating, "Woooooowwww!"

He got on his new bed, proceeded to jump around a bit,
and then continued to admire the walls. :)
It was pretty awesome. When we put him in bed that evening, I was prepared for a difficult night. Again, he surprised me and went right to sleep!

I couldn't believe our good fortune!

Nap time today proved to be a lot more challenging, so I did go out and invest in a baby gate for his room. Let's just say that this kid is sneaky and has the potential to create complete and total chaos when left unattended.

This evening, gate installed, I thought for sure that he'd give us more problems but nope. He again went right to sleep, not getting out of bed a single time.

I am going to make a valance out of Jack's top sheet (the boys tend to just kick the sheet off anyway) and add the missing letters before it is completely finished. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Better yet, Jack is happy!

I love Jack's look of wonder when he came home to his new room! So glad the transition has gone pretty smoothly!
