April Fooled

The boys have always been obsessed with the calendar. At some point during our many discussions, I happened to mention that April Fool's Day was coming. They loved the idea of playing jokes; it was decided that I needed to play a joke on them.

Fast forward to today. They were excited and asked me several times today about what I was going to do.

Prank #1 - Jello "juice"

I actually got to spring this joke on the boys one at a time. It worked out perfectly because no one was able to spoil the joke for the others. :)

Shawn was up first.

Mom, what's wrong with my drink?

Hey! It's not a drink!

Want to try some, mom?

It smells good, but I don't think I want any!

Jason was up next.

Huh. I don't think my straw is working.

Wait a minute...

I can't suck it up!

What's going on here?

Oh, that's a good one, mom!

Jack was last. He was not fooled in the least.

Hey, wait a minute!

He kept saying, "Funny pink drink." lol

I don't think I like this...

The straw wobbles when I push it!

Prank #2: A dessert of brown "E's"

My prep for the joke.

Just after the boys finished dinner, we gave them their dessert.

They thought this one was pretty funny, you know, after we pointed out what they were...

"See guys? What are they?"

"E's"

"And what color are they?"

"Brown"

"So what are they?"

"Brown E's."

"Right..."

"Brown E's?"

"Uh huh..."

"Oh! Brown - e's!!! Like brownies! I get it! That's funny! What prank are you going to play next?"

All in all, it was a fun day!
