The funny part to me, however, was how this seemingly ordinary event highlighted how polar opposite our boys are. Each reacted to the "excitement" of clogged toilets and the arrival of the plumber in very different ways.
Jack: He was more of the whole, "Oh, is someone here?" attitude. As long as the plumber didn't interfere with his playing, he was okay about what was going on around the house. Jack spent the time on watch for the door to the bathroom to be left open. The second he spotted his opening, he made a mad dash to the forbidden room.
Jason: He was Mr. Helpful. He could hardly wait for the plumber to get to the house and was sad to see him go. Jay wanted to be part of everything and help, help, HELP wherever he could. It was pretty cute to watch him follow daddy around (while he followed the plumber) taking care of business.
Shawn: He was Mr. Laid Back. Shawn's main focus during the event was to talk to the plumber. He wasn't a fan of the noise of the snake as it went down the pipe, so he stayed out of the way for that, but the moment that was over, he wanted to TALK. He ended up going out to say bye to the plumber while he was trying to leave. It's just like him to stay out of all the commotion, yet stay close enough for the social interaction afterward. lol.
I'm not sure what the poor plumber thought of all the attention Team Lopez gave him, but the boys thought he was pretty cool. He did give us a discount, though, so maybe it was the boys who made that possible. They are pretty cute. ;-)
