Friday Five

The big boys love, love, love to annoy each other. The other day I had to institute a no talking to your brother rule.

"But MOM, can I talk to Jason yet?"

No.

"Mom, I want to talk to Shawnie."

No.

I made them suffer for about ten minutes before I gave them amnesty. Then I made them promise they would be nice to each other, too.

I got about half a day of limited fighting. All I had to say was, "Do you want me to say no more talking to each other?" lol.

With eyes narrowed, Shawn looked right at Jason before he said, "Dad, do you see my hunkback whale?"

Jason immediately shot back, "It's humpback whale, Shawn."

"Hunkback whale."

"Humpback whale."

"Hunkback."

"Humpback."

The back and forth would have gone on forever had Isaac not finally told them the correct way to say it. Fun stuff, I tell you.

Jason lost his eighth tooth (his second tooth on the upper right) this evening! He decided he would reuse the box he made for his last tooth, but he did write the Tooth Fairy another note. He asked for her to bring him another car instead of a coin. The Tooth Fairy did, but she did leave a note saying that he used up his two trades and had to go back to coins from here on out.

Where did my baby go?

Mr. Jack is always, always, always on the go. He climbs everything. He waits for me to turn my head so he can get into whatever he KNOWS he shouldn't. Sometimes, he'll even look me in the eye and do what he shouldn't. He is officially a Terrible Three. It's exhausting!

Tell me this stage ends soon. (Lie to me if you must.)

That being said, it is amazing to see how much he can do lately. His stubborn personality (What can I say? He comes by it naturally.) may be a challenge for his parents at times, but I love the fact that when he has set his mind to something, he'll work on it until he does it. That is pretty awesome in my book.

I just wish that trait had an on/off switch. ;)

~~~
How can it be that summer is already over?
The boys start first grade in 12 short days. I am excited and nervous and a whole host of other emotions all rolled into one about them going. Fingers crossed that things go well and we fall in love with their teacher. (Oh please, oh please, let us get another wonder teacher this year!)
They, on the other hand, seem pretty "meh" about the whole thing!
