Shawn has adapted to the times. Rather than a trip to Target, he now has his weekly adventure set out as driving around for "errands." First, we drove to by the beach - he doesn't want to stop, he just wants to check it out as I drive slowly by. Then we dropped off a gift. Then we headed to Starbucks drive through, where I got an ice blended drink and he got a chocolate chip cookie. lol. All was right in his world after that cookie, too. :)

Jack put together a "bag of treasures" to share with his class. It was assigned last week, so it has been sitting at his desk waiting to be shown since Sunday. The teacher had a few kids share each day, but by Friday, he lost it when he couldn't share his with the class. He didn't hear the teacher explain that they'd do more sharing next week. Poor guy. Anyway, we talked through it and he felt much better once the teacher told him he would be first to share on Monday. He can't wait!

We think we have all of Shawn's schedule finally in place. We got a little creative and moved his PE from first period, where it would likely tire him out for the rest of the day, to 7th period so he can do his PE at the end of the day. That has helped in a couple of ways because now Shawn doesn't have a 9:00 class two days a week. That makes it easier to help Jack those mornings because he has 9:00 class every morning.

All of the heat we've been experiencing has brought fires up and down the state and along most of the western coast of the country. The sky has had an orange glow to it, which makes it look a bit eerie. We don't have any fires close to us, yet we still had this as our view Thursday morning before school.

Our tomato plants are doing so well. I am able to pick quite a few each day for Shawn and I to enjoy. The other guys don't know what they're missing! :)
