Playing in the Rain
This one had a bit of cabin fever, so I sent him out to play in the sprinkles. He wasn't quite sure what to do with himself at first, but he caught on to the fun pretty quick. LOL

Friday Five
Everyone had a pretty fabulous week this week. It's so nice to have fabulous weeks. :)

Thursday morning brought rather a rather intense and relatively rare thunder and lightning shower. Honestly, I think it may have been Jack's first real experience with thunder. Let's just say he was not a fan and it left a pretty big impression. We're in for more rain over the weekend. It will be interesting to see how Jack feels about it.

Jack also came home with a project to do. This month he is supposed to research an animal and its habitat. Then he has to create the habitat...
Yay.

We got an email from the county spelling bee giving us all of the details for Jason. The big day will be March 2, from 8:30-5:00 (length depending on how far he progresses through the bee). So exciting!

Shawn, little turkey, called me into his bedroom this afternoon. He was lying on his bed, all snuggled under his blanket. He had my lie next to him. "Here, mom." he told me. "I'm going to make you go to sleep now." LOL! He knows me too well...and no, I did NOT go to sleep. ha ha

Bragging on Our Boy
Once again I want to brag on our boy, Shawn. His teacher put a pretty lofty reading goal in place for the whole class this month. Shawn has read like crazy and met his reading goal. He has read and taken more AR tests this month that he has ever done! He's read several Weird Schoolhouse books (by Dan Gutman) as well as several non-fiction biographies at home, and he's read several books at school this month, too. We are so proud!
He already has his first book picked for February, too.
Way to go with the hard work, kiddo!

Mr. Picky
This kid. He is definitely our pickiest eater, so when he wanted a banana and peanut butter sandwich, I jumped on the request. He wasn't sure if he liked it while he ate it...although he did give me a thumbs up about it.
It should be noted that it has been a few days, yet he hasn't asked for the sandwich again. I don't think that's a coincidence. Ha!
