Back to School Night
Tonight was the boys' Back to School night. (It is always a little odd for me to be on the other side, sitting in the kiddie chairs at this kind of thing. lol) Their classrooms seemed warm and inviting. Cute artwork and assignments were posted around the rooms. Schedules, rules, and procedures were discussed. I think the boys will be good hands this year. Yay!

Conversations with 9 Year Olds
This weekend's burning question: "Is your soul a part of your body?"
That's how I had the pleasure of being awakened today. I felt a bit like I was flashing back to a philosophy final in college. Plus, let's just say that my brain isn't fresh enough first thing in the morning to tackle items like this! Lol
Anyway, I hope I did the question justice and satisfied the smart little mind that asked it. If not, I'm sure we'll get more questions on the matter soon enough. :)

Conversations with 9 Year Olds
Shawn: Mom. Does Mater have lenticular eyes?
Me: um...
I will admit to having to look the word up. lol
P.S. The answer is yes.

Friday Five
Today we were able to go out on a bike ride around the neighborhood as our "did well in school this week" reward. The boys all did amazingly well, too. They are getting SO strong from our bike riding! Plus, their stamina and staying power at bike riding is exhausting astonishing. :)

Jason came home today announcing that he is running for Class President. I have no idea what this position entails, but he is wildly excited about the prospect. Fingers crossed for him! They find out who won the position on Monday.

A funny story about Jack at school this week:
Jack's class were working on the smart board putting capital letters at the start of sentences and adding end marks at the end of sentences. A student in the class struggled with this task, so the class ended up giving her a round of applause when she was successful. When it was Jack's turn to participate, he did as the teacher asked and added the end mark to the sentence, even though she could tell he wanted to mark "the heck out of" the smart board. He then turned to the class and asked for his own round of applause and the class complied. Ha! After that, every child got a round of applause after participating in the activity.
I so LOVE this, and it is SO Jack! lol
~~~
Mr. Shawn is ROCKING with his geometry work from school. This unit is really heavy with vocabulary, and he is still doing so well. I am constantly amazed at his math ability. He is flying through multiplication tables without even a thought, too. So proud!
~~~
It has been a week around here. It will be nice to have a nice, quiet few days to rest and hang out together! Can't wait!

Interview
The boys got to interview me about my job this week. At the end of the interview, they had to draw a picture of me at my job. I love their pictures!
