Sea World Photos

A brief overview of our Sea World adventure through pictures. (As an aside, Shawn wanted to know if we could go on another adventure today. I may have created some adventure monsters here! lol)

Here's the crew just as we headed into the park.
(Jack is still in his "CHEESE" stage. Sigh)

Jason liked these little guys. They like to nibble on your fingers.

Watching the dolphins swim

He was fascinated by the seaweed and sea urchins in this pool.

Chilling in the shade.
Hey? Who's driving this thing?

More chilling. :)

Jason and Jack played in a photo booth for the longest time.
Lol. I didn't want to pay the money for the pictures, so we improvised
and I took one instead. lol

The turtle reef was a huge favorite for all of us.

We fed some sea lions (and birds).

Shawn's favorite part is talking to the characters. Here he
is with Ernie and Elmo.

He also got to meet Big Bird!
We also played a few games in The Bay of Play area.
Shawn won an Elmo prize.
While Shawn met the characters, Jason and Jack went crazy
in the Bay of Play!

And had a blast jumping and running all over.

Hanging out in the big tunnel.

They also won loads of tickets in the arcade.

We also fed the flamingos. Shawn thought this was pretty cool, too.

Jack focused on feeding some ducks that were right under him.

The flamingos were pros at this whole feeding them pellets thing. lol

We saw a few shows. This one was the Sea Lion show.

Jack was a huge fan of this roller coaster ride. It spun and went
up and down in the air. He loved it.

Awesome Job!

So, so proud of Jay! All on his own, he made a goal of reading 41 hours this summer and participate in his school/district's summer reading challenge. He has read 20 books this summer so far. He started his 21st book tonight. He is just about 3 hours away from his goal. He has made a plan so he'll finish the time before school starts on Wednesday. I have no doubt that he will reach his goal, too. Way to go, Jason! He's read 2730 pages so far! 👏🏼🏆🏅💪🏼⭐️

Selecting a Pearl

The highlight of this trip for Jason was picking a pearl. He was sad that the oyster sacrificed himself (herself?) so he could get the pearl, but we decided the pearl is in a much better place now.

He knew right away which one he wanted.

The did a little ceremony by tapping the oyster three times.

They yelled, "Aloha!"

Then the attendant rang a bell.

Looking inside...

I think they spotted something,,,

A Pearl!

A nice, cream colored pearl was his prize!

Cream = for happiness.
I'd say the pearl brought him that. :)

We had it mounted in a little sea turtle pendant for him to hang in his room or wear should he want to. He loved the whole thing!

Friday Five

We just got back this afternoon from a two night trip to San Diego. The boys had absolutely no idea where we were going until we got there. I had managed to pack everything, load it into the car, and get them in their seats without them having any clue of what was up. Then all they got was that we were headed out for an adventure. It was so cool to see them light up when they realized we had stuff in the car to stay at a hotel. LOL

~~~
Our main objective for this trip was to do our annual trip to Sea World, which we did on Thursday. We had a great time, too!
Jack was again his thrill seeker self. Anything that moved was his favorite thing, and he wanted on it.
Jason picked out a pearl, but he was a little upset by the idea that the oyster "sacrificed" itself for him to get it. :( He loved to touch pools. I think he could stay there all day if we'd let him.
Shawn like feeding the flamingos the absolute best out of the day. He also loved the mantas, although he wasn't sure if he actually wanted to touch one. He was fascinated by them, though. He also liked the Sea Lion show.
~~~

Shawn got his new glasses! I think he looks handsome!

~~~
Said while we were gone:
Jason: "It's 11:11! Everybody make a wish!"
Jack: "hm. I wish for a rhino."
Lol
~~~

Only 5 more sleeps until the boys start school! How can it be?! Where has our summer gone?
