Another Uninspired Post Today

Everyone went to school today and successfully made it through the day. Yay! Isaac said they were all hovering at about 80% by the end of the day, but we'll take it. Of course, this week is only half days due to parent conferences, so that helped a lot.

We thought we were cruising on the way to health until this evening when Jack started crying uncontrollably (very unusual for Jack) and declared himself sick again. He vaguely suggested his head or his ear hurt, although he didn't exactly confirm anything before he fell into a fitful sleep. Who knows what that will mean. Sigh.

So, we continue to limp our way to the weekend and a week off of school for the boys next week. Hope we make it. Wish us luck!

Super Moon

lol Even though today ended up being a day everyone stayed home from school, we couldn't let the Super Moon pass without checking it out. We loaded everyone in the car and went on the search. (We couldn't quite see it over the houses at first. It was above the houses in our neighborhood by the time we got back.)

We took some pictures.

Everyone was sufficiently amazed, even Jack. Lol.

Then we came home and went outside in our backyard to howl at the moon a bit. I mean, because isn't that what you do to the moon? Howl at it, I mean. :)

Yay for the Super Moon!

Hair Cut

So comfortable at the hair salon these days that I'm pretty sure he was trying to impress the stylist by asking her if she knows what a "Super Moon" is. Little Flirt explained to her that it would be happening tomorrow night.  

Smooth.

Nothing like a new haircut to give a guy some confidence with the ladies.  Haha

Cute Big Boy Saturday

Shawn is still sick (and a teeny, tiny bit crabby), so Jack and Jay spent the night hanging out in Jack's room.

Friday Five

The crew is still sick, and poor Shawn is the sickest one right now. He's coughing. His nose is runny. His voice is hoarse.

Even though I KNOW he doesn't feel well, the kid will always tell me that he's okay. (And considering that I'm on the other side of this crud, I know just how badly he probably feels.) He truly is a tough little boy.

He is extra snuggley right now, too.

Jason is loving a game he has on his school ipad. It's called Little Alchemy. (Watch out; the game is addictive.) You start the game with four basic elements, and you combine them to create new things. He loves it. He has created over 300 things out of the 560 possible.

Jack has been asking every day to put out Christmas decorations. I blame Target's Christmas aisle for this. Needless to say, I am not ready for that transition yet!

Jack is doing really well with his reading. He is sounding out almost everything now and recognizes and insane amount of sight words.

This morning, he was reading "Disneyland" on a refrigerator magnet we have. He sounded out all of the letters. At the end, he added another "r" to the word. I couldn't figure it out why until I realized the magnet also had a ® symbol, too. LOL!

I've been reading the Magic Tree House series to the big boys at bedtime. Shawn never fails to remind me that we need to read and insists on turning the pages for me. It's pretty cute.

And yeah for Friday holidays...It feels like a Saturday, but it isn't. Woo hoo!

The Plague Is Upon Us

The plague is upon our house, so no one is really up for being cute or silly. That has definitely put a damper on the whole blogging thing. 

We are all greatly appreciative of this upcoming three day weekend, though. Bring on  rest, relaxation, and getting well. Weekend here we come!
