Summer Bucket List 2016 - Minecraft Class

This week, Jason gets to take something he is so excited about -- a Minecraft Coding class! Basically, the class he's taking uses Minecraft, the wildly popular computer game, to teach kids to build, design, and code.

The class is full of 6 to 12 year olds, all who believe they know everything there is to know about Minecraft. lol.

But the instructor held his own, and by the end of the class, the kids were already building codes. Best of all, they got to create explosions in the game! Jason is really jazzed and can't wait to go back tomorrow. I call that a success!

Afterward, we celebrated with a quick trip to 711 for our free slurpee. Yum!

My Guy

Shawn is truly a mama's boy and checks in with me multiple times a day. If he hasn't tracked me down when I'm in another room, or come over to snuggle with me when I'm on the couch, he's calling out to me.

"Do you know what you know about me, mommy?"

"I know I love you, buddy."

He always sighs this contented sign and tells me he loves me, too.

Melts my heart every time.

Cute Big Boy Saturday

We put these two to work pumping up the pool.

Although, I think it was more fun than work. :)

Friday Five

It occurred to me that the boys start school especially early this year - only 5 weeks from now! It seems like we just got out for summer, and BAM. It's already almost school time again. Boo.

So, I started purchasing some of their school supplies, as I buy everything I can online, and that needs a little bit of lead time to make sure everything is here when expected. They picked out their backpacks and lunch boxes. I've got them a few new shirts and some pants for the start of school. It will be nice to be able to put this part of school prep behind us and not have to worry about it later.

Yikes. It won't be long before we'll have three school boys in the house!

~~~
Jack has been on a roll saying all kinds of crazy things lately. He came running in to the living room yesterday to declare his "water" just broke.
"I need to rush to the hospital! Hurry!"
Um...no idea where he picked that up. I can only imagine he saw it on a YouTube video? Lol
~~~

We pulled our pool out this weekend. The boys are going to be so excited to start summer swimming! One more thing to check off on our Bucket List!

~~~
We've been reading our way through several different kinds of books as part of our nightly routine. We started with the adventures of Encyclopedia Brown and are now on the adventures of Flat Stanley. Jason loves the whole thing--the reading, discussing, and even trying to figure out what is going to happen next. Shawn asks every night without fail whether we'll read a story, and while I am reading to them, his job is to turn the pages and tell everyone it's the end. It's pretty funny.
~~~

A new thing the big boys are into is making their own sandwiches each afternoon. They tell me the ingredients they want and have at it. They're getting pretty good at it now, too!

As an aside, I have found that neither of them like the feel of mayo on their hands (neither do I!).
