Easter Bunny

It looks a lot better if you click on it to enlarge.

A new thing the mall did this year was to take pictures before you actually get to see the Easter Bunny. My guess is that the reason for it is twofold: 1) give those waiting something to do, and 2) try to extract more money from everyone. Fortunately, we didn't need to worry about number 1, as there was absolutely no one in front of us. As you can see, they nailed us with number 2, though. :) How could I resist? Look at how cute that picture came out!

After the family picture, we walked around to visit the Easter Bunny. Jack was a little unsure of the big dude, but he managed fairly well. Jason could not wait to see him. Shawn was not going to get anywhere close to the Easter Bunny. In fact, Shawn was most annoyed we weren't going to see Santa. He went so far as to insist we just head on up to the North Pole so he could have his visit. Cracked me up!

Cute Boy Saturday - Dyeing Eggs!

Jason got right to work dyeing his eggs.

Jack thought the egg tongs were fun. He managed to even
hook them on his nose. lol

Shawn ditched the tongs early and used his hands.

The first egg finished.
It was also the first egg casualty.

So if I write on my egg with white, are you sure you'll be able to see it?

Jack was trying to get some dyeing tips by watching Jason.

Jack finally checked out an egg...

deemed it not worthy...

and was done with egg dyeing.
It was pretty funny.

Jason finally ditched the egg tongs, too.

Look at those hands!

He thought it was hilarious.

Eggs shmeggs. Let's rip the paper!

Surveying their handy work.

The finished product!
This year was lots of fun because the big boys fully understood what they were doing. They did lots of experimenting and made new colors by mixing, which was fun, too. Now if I can only find a way to keep them from breaking the eggs while they work, we'd have total success! :)

Birthday

Today is my birthday and we had a lovely time celebrating.

I woke up to a living room filled with balloons. They were quite the hit.

Jack especially liked them.

He would throw them up in the air and say, "Surprise! Balloons!"

We went out for a celebratory brunch. Although it was a very different experience than the last time we went out, it was still pretty fun.

Shawn and I waiting for our food.

Daddy and Jason waiting for food. Jason
was so hungry he was chewing on Daddy's cheek!

Jack was all over his cup of milk. You'd think we never
gave him any at home or something. I guess he agrees
with what they say: Everything tastes better when you go out to eat. ;)

It looks as if we need a little more work on how to use utensils...

Jason ate a TON. He thinks going out to eat is awesome.

Shawn had fun, too. He's giving me a birthday kiss.

Notice how my plate is the only one mostly untouched?
Even Isaac's plate is clean (and gone)! Such is the life. :)

Jason found more to eat...

And did not want to be bothered. lol

A lemon smile for good luck.
This evening we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. That went amazingly well! (more on that later) The boys also got to play on the coin operated rides.

Shawn and Isaac went cruising around the mall while these two played.

Shawn was up for one more adventure. So...we...went to go through the automatic car wash! We are wild around these parts, I tell you!

We ended the evening with some singing and cake. As Jason reminded me several times, "This was the best birthday for you ever, wasn't it, mommy?"

He's right. It was pretty great. :)

Chalk Fun

Target had some really chalk. You mix a little water with them and they make liquid chalk paint. While Isaac and I worked in the back yard weeding, the boys had a great time prettying up things themselves.
