It was that time around here.
The boys were looking scruffy enough that the term "bed head" was more the norm in describing them than not. It was time for the dreaded opening of "De Hair 'Em, Scare 'Em," our family hair salon.
I usually prep the boys a few days before I actually do the cutting. I learned that if I just spring it on them one day, it does not go very well. Gradually warming them up to the idea that it was coming helps keep down the dramatics, and yes, there is always drama attached to hair cuts.
So this time when I brought it up, I told the boys that they could have someone else cut their hair if they want. Shawn immediately nixed that idea. Apparently, he likes to keep the torture in the family. Jason, however, gave this offer a lot of consideration.
And then he fired me--just like that.
Sigh. Where is the love with these boys? Jeez. :)
Daddy took him off to the sa-lon, aka SuperCuts, for a cut while Shawnie stayed and enjoyed a much subdued hair cut by me. (Yes, Shawn DID enjoy it. Sure there were tears, but they were tears of happiness at how great his mommy was making him look! I will believe nothing else so there.)
Daddy said Jason was nervous during his adventure, but he did so well!

The best part is they gave him a sucker. Okay, fine. I suppose it is good that he looks pretty handsome and wants to go back again. What-evs.
