We went to Target at the mall. The boys had a grand old time riding the poor man's roller coaster...aka, the escalator! We definitely need to get out more. ;)

Friday Five

This has been quite the week. Shawn got sent home from school again on Monday. They again said that Shawn had a fever. When Isaac got there to pick him up, he asked them to take his temperature again in front of him. "Oddly", there was no fever. Shawn wasn't sick. They sent him home anyway. Grr.

Today, it was pouring rain outside when we got up to get ready for school. In the past, there have been issues with the big boys getting around their school when it rains (our schools are all outdoor), so we decided that we'd avoid the potential and keep them home. 

I contend that this was the best move, because when I got to school this morning, our power was out. It was out for most of the first period! 

While I don't know if the boys would have had to deal with that, it would have doubly stunk if they did. Instead, everyone got to have a lazy day for the start of their long weekend.

Jack has been climbing into bed with us in the morning before everyone gets up for the day. I think it is one of my favorite times of the day now. This morning I asked him a bunch of questions, and we chatted for the longest time. I was so sad when I had to get up to get ready for work.

Can you believe that our dynamic duo will be 14 years old in less than 3 weeks? Blows my mind!

School Pictures (Round 1)

Well, we got school pictures of the big boys this week. Jason has forbidden me to share his with anyone, and I can definitely see why. It wasn't the best of him, which...with the photographer being able to actually see the picture as it was taken, there is really no excuse for a bad shot. So, yeah.

Shawn's picture is not the best either, but it is "fine" I suppose. He doesn't have an issue with it being shared, which is the only reason it is here. Oh well. Our family pictures are a much better representation of these handsome boys anyway. 💜

It also annoys me that they leave the handle of his walker in the shot, too, but whatever.

Jack took his picture at school Tuesday, so we'll see how that goes.
