Jack's class have been studying the life cycle of the butterfly. This brought with it a renewed interested in a book that we have on raising Monarch butterflies. In this book, he is drawn to a page that shows the predators of the Monarch. He is equal parts fascinated and repulsed by a picture of a "wast" (otherwise known as a wasp) eating a caterpillar. He has to show it to me every single time he opens the book.
Now, we already knew that wasps ate caterpillars, as we've seen the scenario play out in front of our very eyes. It doesn't make it any less fascinating and repulsive to Jack, though.

Apparently there was an election at the house the other day. Jason was running for president, and his opponent was me -- only I had no idea it was even going on. Anyway, daddy did the tie breaking vote and it was decided Jason was elected. Jay then appointed Jack as his vice-president. (Upon hearing that, Jack immediately ran off to find his tie...because everyone knows that vice-presidents always wear ties.) LOL

Shawn has been sick this week. He is hanging in there, but I foresee that the other boys (and their mother) will be down for the count in three, two, one...

9.5 days until summer for the boys. They are really feeling it now and ask every day how much longer they have. We're almost there!

The boys are working on their summer bucket list. Let's just say that these boys think they are world travelers and that everything must be free. We've had visits to all kind of places suggested, and even Jack has decided that we must include a hotel visit at some point. Mr. Shawn has been the realist of the bunch and has asked for a trip to Target. Now that I know we can accomplish!
