Pile

Isaac made the mistake of lying on the ground. Two seconds later, he looked like this. ;)

Celebration Time!

Well, Jason met his personal AR goal! In the end, he earned 150.7 AR points. Way to go!

Not to be outdone, Shawn also reached his AR goal. During this third trimester alone, Shawn earned 30% more AR points than he earned in the previous two trimesters COMBINED!

We are so proud of both our guys! Way to go!

And Target, here we come! :)

Summer Bucket List 2016

Well, somehow the time has gotten away from me, and we are now only ten school days away from the start of our summer vacation! And, as we all know, with the start of summer comes doing things on our annual bucket list!

I love how these lists get me thinking and, more importantly, planning so we can make the summer fun. We manage to do about half of our list each year. I think that is pretty amazing. More importantly, the boys end up having a lot of fun.

This is what I have for year's list, which includes some carryovers from last year.

Without any further ado, I present our list.

Summer Bucket List 2016

*Shawn wants to go to the park and beach, do crafts, and play.
*Jason wants to take a Minecraft Coding Class, go to Universal Studios to see Harry Potter, visit a fire station, and go camping.

This list is definitely fluid, and I imagine the boys will be adding to it frequently. lol. But, no matter how the list ends at the end of the summer, our goal is to make some great memories. I'm pretty sure we can make that happen.

Nothing would make us happier than them talking about what we did this summer for the rest of the year like they did the last.

Friday Five

Ten more school days! Wooo hoooo! We continue to count down to summer. Bring it!

~~~
Jason brought home an invitation for us to attend the Accelerated Reader awards ceremony next Friday morning. This school year, he has already read 211 books and something like 600,000+ words. His current point total is 147.6 points, and he's just 3 points shy from his personal goal. He has until the 9th to reach his goal. I'm certain he'll make it!
Way to go, Jay!
~~~

This week brought the end of the boys' homework for the school year. I can't tell you how excited I am (we all are) about that. Yay!

~~~
For our bedtime story the last few days, we've been reading Roald Dahl's book, The Magic Finger. When the main character, an eight year old girl, points her magic finger at the people who get her upset, strange things start happening. The story has apparently made an impact on Shawn because I swear the boy pointed his finger at me this evening! It was pretty funny.
Sadly for Shawn (and good for me!), his finger does not possess the same magic as the girl's in the story. ;)
~~~

Jack has been wiggling his two front teeth, and I was certain they'd be out by now. Alas, they are still in there wiggling, and he is still showing his annoyance of said wiggling by his constant requests for us to pull his teeth out. I would, but somehow these teeth have roots of steel and are hanging on.
