Story Time

A Penguin Parade

Once upon a time there was a penguin named Daddy. He wanted to be in a parade. He gathered all his penguin friends to have a parade. They all lined up. The penguins dressed up as pumpkins. They had a awesome time. Daddy was happy.

Friday Five

This week brought Jason's first missed day of the school year. Thankfully, whatever it was that had him up vomiting the night before, passed quickly.

The funniest part was that at one point Jason asked the Magic Eight Ball whether he would be sick forever. The Magic Eight Ball told him, "My reply is No."

Jason was relieved, but he did tell his dad that he thought the Magic Eight Ball was kind of spooky. Lol.

I'm just happy that the Eight Ball didn't say yes. I can only imagine what Jason would have done in that situation!

Plans are in the works to take a family trip to Disneyland. I am so excited. The boys will be over the moon thrilled when we tell them!

~~~
Jason also had a follow-up appointment at the eye doctor. We are keeping close watch on the muscles in his right eye. While he already had strabismus surgery to correct the alignment of his eyes, sometimes, there can be issues with the muscles a few years later. That is where we find ourselves.
Fortunately, Jay's vision is still really good, and the glasses are doing a decent job keeping his eyes aligned for the most part. We may do a little patching to try to strengthen the muscles in his weak eye a little more. We shall see.
Shawn is getting so grown up all of a sudden, and we are seeing changes in him in so many areas. :) One example of a change is his reaction to frustration when he plays his LeapPad. He used to get so upset when he'd get frustrated (He's like his mother in that way.), that we basically had to take the toy away from him so he could calm down. Now, he is able to call for help, and he'll accept when we tell him that he needs to figure it out on his own without a meltdown. And this is even with games that are more challenging!
It is so neat to see him learn how to handle himself in difficult situations!
Jack is still pretty picky when it comes to food. Tonight we had pizza for dinner, and Jack was not pleased at all. The way he carried on, you would have thought we were feeding him some sort of horrible poison! lol
This kid is a stubborn one, I tell you!
Perfecting His Game
Caught him in the bathroom earlier today. He was making different faces and checking himself out in the mirror. I'm fairly certain he was just perfecting his game. Cuties like him have to know how to work it, I guess. ;)
Look, Daddy!
He immediately put on his brakes, something that seldom happens, and called daddy over.
"A bug!" he yelled.
"Where is it?" daddy asked him.
"Right here!" and he pointed at a tiny snail on the leaf.
He watched that thing for the longest time, too. :)
