Conversations With 7 Year Olds
Him: "I really like Minecraft, but sometimes it gets lonely. You can do all kinds of stuff, but I'd like it better if I wasn't all alone.

Conversations With 7 Year Olds
Him: "Mom, we're going to get to do maps at school."
Me: "What do you mean? You're going to draw maps?"
Him: "No, we get to learn how to read them!"
Me: "Wow! That sounds like a lot of fun!"
Him (nodding knowingly): "It is going to be a lot of fun."
Other him: "Um, mom? Why is maps going to be fun?"
Me: "Well, because you get to learn something new."
Other him: "Humph. I don't think that sounds like fun at all."

Singing in the Rain!
It's been far too long since we've seen any kind of substantial rain falling from the sky. We jumped at the opportunity to do a little singing in the rain! And we jumped in a whole lot of puddles while we were at it. ;-)

Friday Five
Well, after a minor blip after a spider scare, the boy is back to his Minecraft obsession. He hasn't really done much more adventuring in the actual game yet, but he is studying up on various how to play YouTube videos. He's also asked for a Minecraft book set from his class's Scholastic book orders. My guess is that he's going to learn everything he can before he attempts to play again. No more surprises for him.
~~~
Shawn has rediscovered Play Doh, which has been fun. He and daddy (and sometimes Jack) sit at the table creating different figures and characters. It's pretty fun to watch.
~~~
The boys' fundraiser is coming to an end. The last day to turn in tickets (which represented orders) for the much wanted smaller incentives was Tuesday. The last day to turn in orders for the bigger prizes is on Monday.
Sadly, Jason fell a few hundred short from his 186 order goal. Ahem. They were happy, though, to each have sold 6 items. :)
~~~
With the flip of the calendar, the count down to the big boys' birthday has begun in earnest. Only 25 more days until the big boys turn 8. How can that be?!
~~~
One of Jack's new favorite activities is dancing to YouTube videos. He has some seriously cute moves, but he stops whenever I get out the camera to record him in action. It's so fun to watch!

"If I ever open a restaurant, I'm going to put this meal on the menu. Chicken, blueberries, tortilla chips and cheese are the best meal ever."
