Mom's Movie Theater

I had told the boys that once I was off work we'd try to do something special each day of their vacation. Our first special thing was a surprise movie "experience" in the living room.

I put up a blanket to help darken the room. On the blanket, I hung up a sign: "Welcome to Mom's Theater. Now Showing: Big Hero 6." They all thought that was pretty cool.

A movie theater?! That's awesome!

Baymax! I like Baymax!

He does really like Baymax. He carried the pictures around for a long while afterward.
I moved the couch centered to the television and set out a bunch of movie snacks--Mike and Ikes, M&Ms, and popcorn. I even had Isaac go out and pick up some Orange Fanta to drink.

It was a huge success. The boys all hung out in the living room and watched the movie while eating their treats.

It was pretty sweet when, at a particularly touching part of the movie, our sensitive boy burst into tears. It was clear that he was very into the movie.

Once Big Hero 6 was over, we watched Cars, too.

This was definitely a win/win. I had almost as much fun creating the experience as they had enjoying it! :)

Tooth Fairy Time Again

He surprised us and lost his left lateral incisor (the one next to his permanent front tooth) today!

I'm fairly certain that the right lateral incisor is loose, too. If he does lose it soon, I don't know how the kid's going to eat with just one of his top four teeth!

Cute Big Boy Saturday

Fun at the park today...

Daddy and Jack on the swing

Shawn, our daredevil, on the slide.

He wanted to get on this thing over and over again.

And had absolutely zero concerns about sliding down.

He LOVED it!

Jack was a fan of the slide, too.

There was another family flying kites while we were there.
Jack talked them into letting him try, too. lol

Jason climbed the mini rock wall.

And played on the jungle gym.

But, I think he had the most fun playing ball with a little boy he met. lol

Somehow I managed to get all three boys in a picture!

Shawn even talked daddy into going down the slide.
He talked me into sliding down, too, but sadly we have no pictorial documentation of that. :)

Jack sliding; Shawn kissing me. :)

Friday Five

This is the end of the boys' first week of spring break. It went by fairly quietly as I still had to work this week. Now that I'm officially on break, let the fun begin!

~~~
We do have a few things planned for next week, but we have yet to say anything to the boys about them. Yea for surprises!
~~~

Jack has started a funny thing to get the big boys to stop fighting. As soon as the boys start up, Jack runs over to kiss Shawn to distract him. Lol. It's cute and usually fairly effective!

~~~
You Tube has become quite the rage around these parts. How watching people opening chocolate eggs and packages of hot wheel cars is entertaining, I have no idea. They love it anyway. Kids are strange.
~~~

Also, look at these two cuties...

This is what vacation looks like! Lol

April Fooled!

Trick #1: The mustaches were a big hit with the boys, so much so, they wanted to wear the 'staches all day. :) I had to reapply their mustaches about mid way through the day. As you can see, they all were willing for a second coat. :)

Trick #2: With the big boys as obsessed as they are over money, my second trick was a photocopied dollar bill that I cut in half, attached a note, and placed around the house. I think I may have done too well with this one because I swear it took convincing to get them to believe that they were just photocopied!

Jason actually found them both and immediately put them in their piggy banks. lol

Trick #3: Going with the money theme...

Coins glued to the concrete!

Jason was thrilled with finding money, but it didn't take him long to figure the trick out. "Huh? Did you trick me again? I can't get them up!"

Trick #4: Pound cake "grilled cheese" for dinner! (I got the idea here.)

They figured it out pretty quickly. By dinner time, they were pros and looking for tricks.

This was a hit! lol. Both the big boys thought this one was pretty awesome and tasty. :)

Jack was not a fan and had his peanut butter waffle sandwich instead. lol

The boys also got to trick me. They put tissue in my slippers and tied a knot in my sweatshirt. lol. They were thrilled when I fell for their tricks. :)

All in all, it was a pretty fun day. While I did have two other tricks planned, they didn't work out for various reasons. I'll just hold on to those ideas for next year.

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone!
