It's Jason's Day!

7 years ago on Thursday, after 100 days in the NICU, we got to bring our Jason home. I gave him the choice of celebrating his day on the 4th, his actual Homecoming Day, or today. He chose today so he would get the full benefit of his day. I'm fairly certain he got his money's worth by waiting. :)

Jason took full advantage of his day. He chose a breakfast of pancakes with whipped crème and chocolate chips.

It was raining out today, so like his brother, Jason chose to hang out around the house.

He picked his favorite movie, the Lego Movie, to watch and controlled the television all day long.

We played a LOT of Draw Something (and the iPad) today, too.

It was no surprise when he wanted to have pizza for dinner. Our boy is a huge fan of pizza!

Then after he blew out his candles and ate his cake, he played cars with his daddy.

Happy Homecoming Day, Jason! Hope you had a great day!

Modern Toddler Problems

Part of the nightly routine is that the boys get to play iPads before they go to bed. While each boy has his own iPad to play, Jack is "forced" to use what he considers the least desirable iPad. He also knows that he gets a chance to play the "better" iPads after the big boys go to bed.

In his effort to speed up the bedtime process, Jack has taken to repeatedly telling the boys it is bedtime all on his own. It's pretty funny.

Toddler problems are so different nowadays!

Concentration

This look speaks for itself.

He was told to keep his eye on the ball. He totally did, too. ;)

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

Letting him roam free in the store has opened up a whole new world...

...and he loves it!

Groundhog Day As Seen By 7 Year Olds

---transcribed by me just as it was written with my comments in parentheses

---

Groundhog Day is February 2. (It is pronounced "2nd" I was told.) A Groundhog is a furry animal that lives in the ground. Some people believe a groundhog can predict the weather. This year the groundhog saw its shadow. There might be 6 more weeks fo (of) winter.

And...

Yes, I believe a groundhog can tell the weather. because Ms. Spencer told me so.

And that, my friends, makes me smile!

I'll Take Care of You

I haven't felt well this weekend, as it seems I caught another round of crud the boys brought home. Anyway, I spent a lot of my time on the couch.

Today, Shawn was super sweet and attentive. He frequently came over to me to rub my head, and he gave me imaginary medicine several different times.

"I know your head hurts, mom. Don't worry. I'll take care of you."

How could I not melt from words like those? :)
