Mostly Wordless Wednesday

I don't think I'll ever tire of this!

Reading this week's challenge text. :)

Overheard

Jack tried for quite some time to break into Jason's storage tub that was hidden under the bed. He banged, he pulled, and he pounded, all to no avail. He was frustrated but determined to get to the forbidden goods the tub promised.

We left him to his own devices while he worked.

When he did finally manage to figure out how to open it he exclaimed, "Yo Ho Ho, Matey!" and started muttering about finding gold doubloons. I imagine he was trying to hurry off to go hide his loot. ;)

Conversations With 6 Year Olds

While trying to decide the age requirements he should impose on his new toy truck:

Him: I think you should have to be 6 or older. Yeah.

Isaac: That sounds like a good idea.

Him: We can say it's for 6 to...how old are you? 21? We can say it's for 6 to 21 year olds.

Isaac (while laughing and pointing at me with the silent question, "How old does that make you then?": Hey, I like that.

Him (turning to me): Mom, how old are you? 14? Okay. We can say it's for 6 to 14 to 21 year olds. Yeah. That's it.

Me: Bwahahahaha....

More Reading

It never fails to blow me away when I watch him read and understand. It is so, so awesome!

For some reason the video/sound is having issues. Everything is running incredibly slow tonight, so I don't have it in me to go back and try to fix it. I'm sure you get the idea, though. :)

Cute Boy Saturday - Everybody's Painting

Jack started it. Now the big boys are into painting, too.

Jason painted a diving bear.

Shawn pained a fisherman catching a fish.

Of course, Jack had to change things up again. He's on to painting other things, now...

He started but moved on quickly...

...to things like painting his mouth.
In the end, I just gave him his old toothbrush and let
him dip that in the water instead of the paintbrush. He was in heaven.
Sigh.

You Better Watch Out!

We're rough.

We're tough.

We're outlaws, wanted for some serious crimes against humanity...

Daddy, aka "Dusty Herman"
Wanted for: Dancin' the Can-Can
Reward: Two Cents

Mommy, aka "Ruthless Randy"
Wanted for: Dirty Spurs
Reward: the Sheriff's Badge (Jeez!)

Shawn aka "Rancid Riley"
Wanted for: Skippin' to the Last Page
Reward: A Talkin' Horse

Jason aka "Don Juan JuanDonna"
Wanted for: Huggin' and Kissin'
Reward: A Trusty Sidekick

Jack aka "Rotten-Apple Avery"
Wanted for: Burpin'
Reward: A Gold Nugget

The boys laughed and laughed about these wanted posters, which came from one of the apps they were playing on the iPad. The funniest thing to me was that they were all randomly generated, and yet they seemed to fit each of us pretty well. I mean, come on. It said Jason was wanted for hugging and kissing. How uncanny was that? Shawn's gave him his own middle name! lol

Conversations With 6 Year Olds

While lounging around on the couch with my boy...

J: What color are your eyes?

Me: My eyes are hazel, or green.

J: Does everyone have green eyes?

Me: Some people have blue eyes. Some people have hazel eyes, like me. Some people have brown eyes, like you, Shawn, Jack, and daddy.

J: Do people have red eyes?

Me: Some people. People who have a condition called 'albinism' have red eyes. Albinos' eyes look red because they don't have pigment in their eyes. Their skin is also very white because they don't have pigment in their skin.

J (Thinking): Well you don't have pignment to your skin. Are you an albino?

Me: Sigh. No.
