Mad Skillz

Scene:

Isaac was in the kitchen.

I had left early for work.

In Jack's room, Jason was saying, "Thunder Storm," over and over.

The bedroom light was flickering off and on.

And Action...

Seems Jack has himself a new skill. :-)

Mostly Wordless Wednesday - A Sculpture

A sculpture made entirely of cars. I have no idea what you would call such a ... um, creative piece of work, but here it is in all it's glory.

Behold...

Meticulously working with his metal medium...

There are just not enough words to do this justice.

He is so proud of his handiwork.

and be awed. Great work, Jay!

Zoo Picture

Not a bad family shot of us at the zoo! 4 out of 5 people looking at the camera. I'll take it!

(Okay. So it is a picture of a picture because I am too lazy to go scan the original. You get the drift, though.)

Radish - Theirs vs Ours

Radish -

Their definition: (n) Pungent fleshy edible root. Etymology: Radish \Rad"ish\, noun. [French expression radis; compare to Italian expression radice, Pr. raditz: all from Latin radix, -icis, root, an edible root, especially radish, akin to English wort. See Wort, and compare to Eradicate, Race root, Radix.]. Webster's Online Dictionary

I enjoy eating lightly salted radishes on my salads.

VS

Our definition: (n) Raw, red skin in the diaper area, otherwise known as a diaper rash. Etymology: Radish \Rad"ish\, noun. [Team Lopez expression from the root "rash" misinterpreted by the little folk and morphed into the new term "radish." Don't ask us why.]

Why is Jack crying momma? Does he have a radish on his butt?

Sigh.

Rub a Dub, Dub (Part 2)

More men in the tub!

A month ago, I posted this picture of Shawn and Jack.

Aren't they cute? (The answer is yes in case you didn't know.)

With the two of them next to each other, the one thing that you might first notice, outside of their obvious good looks, is that they definitely have different skin tones. Jack clearly has a darker tone than Shawn. It isn't a glaring difference, but it is a difference all the same.

Tonight, Jason had his turn in the tub with Jack. And well, I finally got that example of a glaring difference in skin tones.

I was shocked to see up close and personal how light one was compared to the other. (Especially when you take into consideration that the light one has a tan!) Makes me wonder what my boy looks like when he's next to me and my lily white skin! lol

Genetics is an amazing thing. Same gene pool, three such totally different looks.

Just because it makes me smile, I'll leave you with this last one...

because baby butts are the cutest thing ev-er. :-)

Just a Normal Everyday Kind of Scene

Scene:

Shawn was listening to this song as part of his reward for doing his exercises. (Sorry you have to click over. They've disabled the ability to embed the song in the post.)

Anyway, Shawn was sitting on the couch and rocking out to "No One Wants to Be Left Out." (It is a catchy tune, you know.) Just as the song was ending, Jason abruptly ran from the room looking for two of his monster trucks.

After a few moments, Jason came back in and asked for the song to be played again.

Why you ask?

So the monster trucks could dance to it, of course.

I told you it was catchy!
