You carried me in your tummy,
Oh those many months,
Then held my head against your chest
To calm my cries and grunts.
So many hours spent caring
And loving me just so
Through long long days and longer nights
That most may never know.
And at six months I’m ready
To express my gratitude,
What can I say to match the power
Of the love that you exude?
The very first word I speak
May be repeated an awful lot,
I’ll say it loud and proud for you
On second thought, maybe not.
Oh the irony of it all,
Don’t ask me what’s the matta
The only word that I can say
Sounds an awful lot like... Dada!
