Easter 2011

The Easter bunny dropped a few goodies off for the boys.

Jason got up first and had to check out his Easter surprises. He loved the cars. :-)

Shawn was a bit more interested in the candy in his basket. He is my boy after all.

We spent a quiet morning at our house and then headed over to grandma's house, where the boys had lots of fun playing with the Easter baskets grandma gave them.

 Again, Jason goes for the car...and Shawn goes for the candy!

After opening their Easter baskets, we ate a yummy dinner before the boys got the chance to color Easter eggs. They LOVED it! (I had enough pictures to make that a post all by itself!)

We even got the chance to take a family picture!

It isn't perfect (Shawn has the habit of saying "Cheese" either two seconds before or two seconds after you take a picture), but I'll take it. You would, too, if you saw the other options. Wait a minute...why don't I just let you see for yourself. :-)

Let me present outtakes from Easter 2011 family photo shoot...

Picture 1 - the adults are focused on the camera. Sadly no one else was.

Shawn's tiring of the photo shoot. Jason is busy watching television. I'm still trying to smile through the chaos. Lol.

Now Shawn is trying to get my attention. He'll just grab my face if I don't respond to him fast enough!

More tears for Shawn. Jason is finally looking at the camera! Yeah!

Daddy is trying to focus Jason on the camera. Shawn is calming down finally. Jack is trying to figure out what he did to wind up with this crazy family. Notice I am still smiling. Hey. That is what I do!

See? That first picture isn't so bad, now is it? :-)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Once again we made the trek to the mall to visit our favorite springtime character...the Easter Bunny! The boys were abuzz with excitement on the way there. We had talked the outing up, and both seemed to look forward to meeting the big guy in white. Jackson affirmed his agreement with his steady snores.

We were all set. Nothing could go wrong!

That is, nothing could go wrong until we saw the BIG BUNNY. Yikes. He was actually okay from afar. As we waited in line, the boys seemed just fine.

Just in case, we had decided that this would be a family picture (our first!) in an effort to make the big boys a bit more comfortable.

Jason actually was okay at first. Here he is sporting a sort of deer caught in headlights look. He wasn't thrilled, exactly, but he was giving this experience a shot. Shawn, however, was not okay. Notice his look of terror the moment he sat on the bunny's lap. I think he might be saying, "Get me off!" over and over again to Isaac in this first shot.

Now this one seemed to catch us all off guard. Jason had now decided that Shawn must be on to something, so he joined in on the crying fest. I may be telling him that it was okay when the photographer snapped this picture. Shawn was caught taking another glance at the scary bunny, and the hysterics started up again. Jack has started to fidget some, too, what with all the noise and all. I must say, though, that Isaac is looking pretty good!

For this last shot, Isaac and I have decided that crying will be the best we're going to get for the pictures, so we might as well smile and look good ourselves amid all the chaos. We're used to it; I think it may be the story of our lives now! :-)

I don't know why, but I love shots like this. They are real...and that makes them all the more special to me. Besides, if all of our pictures were perfect, what would I have to embarrass them with when they bring home their girlfriends? (Not that I would ever do such a thing...heh heh.)

Discharge will likely happen tomorrow. We are both doing well. I've been up and walking around a lot more today. It still isn't fun, but it's not too bad this time compared to last.
